    Interactive Brokers: TWS P&L Automation

Is there an automated way to simultaeously exit a basket of open stock positions once the P&L gets to a designated threshold, with a OCA bracket? In other words, if I currently have 10 stocks open, 100 shares each, I would like to set the TWS page to automatically close all open positions at...

Lescor, How long does most of your trades last (a few minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, longer)? thanks, Walt

Grinding it out, day after day

The only problem with "short term inefficiencies" is the fact that the "market can remain irrational longer than anyone can remain solvent" (John Keynes). Fundamentally, when do you know to cut the losses short vs. wait on the reversal...????

Grinding it out, day after day

Isn't that similar to what Paul Rotter (aka "the flipper") used to do? He would place very large orders in illiquid markets to move the price near his order, then reverse his order and get filled as the price reverts to its mean... I believe that was the essense of his strategy...

Grinding it out, day after day

To Lescor or anyone that runs various scans/filters, When your scanner or filter identfies several stocks that meet your trade criteria, do you try to trade a basket of stocks simultaneously or do you pick 1 - 3 stocks an focus on those few. In other words, do you use the "shot gun" approach...

Grinding it out, day after day

I'm sorry if I insulted anyone, as that was not my intention. I guess I may have the misguided belief that we can all share ideas and strategies to achieve at least two outcomes: (1) help others, as we may have been helped by others; (2) receive suggested improvements to our current...

Point taken... In any event, would you be willing to share some of the more dependable RTM filters/scans that are used? thanks, Walt

Grinding it out, day after day

Lescor, Below is a statement from Dustin ("How to Learn Price Action" thread, p. 7) where he recommends a K.I.S.S. principle. In doing so, he stated that trend is overall easier & more profitable than RTM. Although I'm a rtm advocate, as it makes more sense to me, I still believe that...

Grinding it out, day after day

When scanning for ideal trades with Trade Ideas or any other scanning tool, most of the opportunities that I observe seem to favor a breakout strategy instead of a reversion to mean strategy. If I recall correctly, Dustin, as well as other successful traders, have stated that it's easier to...

Grinding it out, day after day

You're absolutely right, Lescor. The concept of buying when a volatile stock drops and selling when it jumps is very easy to understand. The BIG challenge is to discern if the stock is making a big move due to a material event (i.e. M&A, Accounting scandal, etc.) that has yet to hit the wires...

Grinding it out, day after day

This is all sooo "Counter Intuitive" to me. Why trade reversion to mean (rtm) with highly volatile stocks? Stocks with big swings in price throughout the day seems ideal for a breakout strategy trader, whereas the s&p 500 would be ideal for a rtm trader because folks often refer to it as...

Grinding it out, day after day

Lescor, Would you be willing to open an affiliate prop shop through your prop shop, whereby folks could sign-up under you? This would give you an override on the commission they generate. In turn, you would teach your trading techniques. Therefore, the more successful they are, the more...

As Kenny Rogers says, "you got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em..." Regarding trading, how do yo know when to average down (scale-in) vs. exit with the loss??? thanks, Walt
