What stocks are you buying and holding for long term?

Anyone buying LOGI? Webcams are sold out everywhere ... may ride ZM’s coat tails.

That's only partly correct -- check out this movie (I think it's on Netflix?): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3576038/

Pro tip: when peddling conspiracy stories, it helps not to go to "Nancy Pelosi" right away. Invoking Pelosi as a go-to default negative means that 95% of all non-dumb people just stop listening. But I suppose they're not your target audience here.

$700+ in one day is very solid. Not sure what issues people have. Curious, how do you use $TRIN in your trading compared to VIX?

Coronavirus outbreak: Trump considers reopening U.S. economy despite COVID-19 spread

But we are the epicenter now. I'm not sure if what little inbound air traffic we still have matters.

which brokerage i choose for stock and forex trading?

Have you considered different brokers for these different styles? For long-term hold, I'd just go Vanguard. For more active, take a look at the brokerages advertising on this forum, they're all good.

Coronavirus outbreak: Trump considers reopening U.S. economy despite COVID-19 spread

I'm not saying it was avoidable. I'm saying that people in the U.S. often make arguments about how "X just can't be done here," while a lot of other countries are getting X done. The curve can be flattened, it just takes good leadership and not-dumb people.

Coronavirus outbreak: Trump considers reopening U.S. economy despite COVID-19 spread

This is like the argument that we "can't have an affordable but top-quality public healthcare system in the U.S." Look at other countries! Switzerland is flattening, Germany is flattening, South Korea is reverting its curve. And those are far denser populations. Why can't we keep exponential...

    Thinkorswim vs Interactive Brokers

Sure, but like you're saying, I can't use TCA to compare fills between TDA and IB. All I can do is submit the same orders to both, and then compare outcomes. But because volatility and other market conditions are going to be strong independent variables in this, it would take a ton of testing to...

    Thinkorswim vs Interactive Brokers

I'm not sure we're saying "free = bad fill", but that commission is usually negligible compared to fill. Brokers need to make money somewhere to maintain infrastructure, and I don't mind paying an average of $0.7 commission/trade in IB if that means my brokerage firm can provide me with a rock...

    Thinkorswim vs Interactive Brokers

I've said this elsewhere on similar threads, but forget commission. Brokers will need to make money somewhere. And I guarantee you that a tick/1cent difference in execution price once every 10 or so trades will cost you more than commission does. Thinkorswim is a great platform. But don't pick...

Trump said to lift business ban by April 12...All in Spy guys

Dude doesn't remember what he said a day ago, plus, none of the Governors (except that idiot Texas Lt. Gov.) are listening to him. If you want to go long SPY, go for it, but don't do it because of anything said at these press conferences.

Trump is making a big mistake?

Absolutely. It's an awful idea. Loosening restrictions = more infections = businesses operating at 40% for many months. That's much worse than lockdown, beat this thing, businesses at 10% for only 1-2 months.

We found the cure, guys... Spy 350 by end April here...

Yeah, futures are really taking off...

    How to gamble

Well, no, I'm not, because I don't gamble on stocks. But if I wanted to go for a low-probability, high-payout gamble, that one may be it.

Coronavirus aid bill includes $3,000 for families, $4 trillion liquidity for Fed: Mnuchin

Tax software that plays nice with IB

IB traders -- what tax software (ideally with online filing option) do you use? I've been with H&R Block forever, but their import for IB tax data has become increasingly pitiful. Looking for something that can connect to IB and pull in the relevant tax data, including futures contracts.

Coronavirus aid bill includes $3,000 for families, $4 trillion liquidity for Fed: Mnuchin

We need a package that assures people are not laid off and can keep drawing their pre-COVID salaries. That involves guaranteed zero-interest loans to small and mid-size businesses, etc. These helicopter payments are pointless and purely political (designed for the buffoon in the WH to gloat...
