    Bloomberg question

Vlad: I think that you can. Unfortuneately, I do not know how to do it. However, if you are near a bloomberg, just hi the help key twice ( I think that it is the f2 key) and that will bring you to their email technical help system. Type a message outlining your question, and they usually...

    Ho Hum

Haven't been watching the market much lately, wondering how you all have been doing of late. From the sound of the boards, it's still a rough go for many. The sideline sounds like a good spot for a newbie like me. Gordo

    Deducting Trading Expenses

Unless something has changed, I believe that it was a schedule c - trader status- that I used to file. Active Trader (not to plug the mag.) generally has tax info for traders - often written by Tesser or Green, both CPAs specializing in trader related practices. Think they both have websites...

    Cable companies capping service

So am I reading this correctly, or just being pessimistic? Does this sound like another potential trading impediment? Hope not, it seems like it could get expensive and thus another increased cost, a barrier to entry for us newbies. Of course, I don't know what the bandwidth requirements are...

Remote Trading with Prop Firm v. Retail Trading

Eldridge: That's a good point. I think, but don't hold me to this, that as long as a person holds their licenses, 7 & 63, etc., the exchanges consider their status "professional." The last that I heard, 7 & 63 were good for two years after leaving a firm. Not sure how this works in terms...

Remote Trading with Prop Firm v. Retail Trading

Eldridge: Aren't the data fees included in prop desk fees? If this is the case, then some of the prop fees that I have seen, particularily remote, seem to be fairly competetive in terms of the fee structure that exchanges charge for "professional quotes." Anyone that currently trades prop...

are de indexes makin a h&s?

On the monthlys it could be suggested that we are about to test the neckline (H & S not supposed to be as reliable on monthly though?). Daily/weekly still look like rally (cup/handle) patterns. Gordo

are de indexes makin a h&s?

What time frame are you looking at? On the dailys, they appear to be forming a cup and handle. Gordo

    Website for Portfolio Simulation

hongshu: A few folks have made similar inquiries. Haven't seen anything updated on this lately. Having been in a similar situation, one option may be to create an excel template to download and track your portfolio. You could setup IRR and ROE/ROA formulas, etc. There was a spreadsheet...

    Trading methods/strategy for newbys ?

TKO: I'll preemptively take the liberty to initially respond to your question. The divergence, would/is a good attempt to sell the top. And the convergence, would/is a good attempt to buy the bottom (catch a falling knife if you will). These are two easily spotted and simple setups to...

Toonces: Bit of an off topic question, but where did you come up with that handle? Coincidently know someone who is affectionately referred to by that name.

My inbox also does strange things. I check my mail each day. But last week there was a message that showed up that said it was sent two weeks earlier. If I check my inbox, it does not show up. Only saw it once.

    Block trades & money flow

shadow: If you are near your bloomberg, go to the equity, hit f2 (help) twice. From there you can send the help desk an inquiry and ask them about it's use and calculation. They are usually helpful and hopefully will provide you with what you need to know. HTH Gordo
