Develop and follow a written trading plan

It was not the mobile device that belies unbelief. It was the casual approach to trading using a celly with no plan like whatevs bruh, high win rate! Another trade, time to eat and not pay attention again! This is preposterous. Trading is hard work but I guess only the initiated would know...

Why are there flash crashes in the stock market but no flash rallies?

^ That may be but crashes happen because of the absence of liquidity. Speculative bubbles, or blow-off tops, is as close as the market gets to a 'flash rally'.

Develop and follow a written trading plan

Apparently I'm the only one who thinks this thread smacks of amateur and is ridiculous. There is no way that some guy on his mobile is taking money out of the market everyday. I trade for a living and this is fantasy trading in sim at best.

Anyone Here Use "Trade Ideas Pro" Software?

Mostly scanning with das trader. It's basic but gets the job done. I have another on tws with IB but I've never used it.

Anyone Here Use "Trade Ideas Pro" Software?

I've used Trade Ideas before. This is not a new product. The scanner is quite good, and if you're daytrading stocks, having a good scanner is essential. If you pay for the year up front, it's like $90 month. Having said that, I don't use it anymore. I have a scanner on my software that is good...

    Hot Keys

On that page I linked you to there was also a section on custom commands which I think are shortcuts for order types/quantity and all that.

What are the most important things for Technical Analysis?

The most important thing about technical analysis is ignoring technical analysis.

Trading - can we discuss the use of volume?

You're substantiating my point. If volume is the catalyst that propels price to move more quickly, as in your example, then volume cannot be both the mass and the propellant. Anyway, I'm just being semantic so I'll leave it at that.

IB stock quotes died on me 15 min to close

I have an account with IB but with different front end software for data and it was fine.

Trading - can we discuss the use of volume?

^ on the contrary, volume is neither mass nor velocity as it pertains to momentum. Price is mass. The speed at which it moves is velocity. Volume is something altogether different.

What is the best direct access software and broker for experienced traders?

Take the time to familiarize yourself with the various exchanges and their incentives and create route strategies according to your needs using hotkeys. I would not suggest auto routing an order. That's lazy and will cost you money. However, trading is not only about cost per trade, so you'll...

What is the best direct access software and broker for experienced traders?

Fixed commission is one price and you don't have to worry about extra fee's nor do you get rebates. Tiered is you choose the route and the exchange, fees vary accordingly but rebates are passed to you. Tiered may or may not be better depending on your trading style. If you're constantly hitting...

What is the best direct access software and broker for experienced traders?

Not sure where you're going with this. Doesn't IB match orders in their own pool first if smart-routed and sell their flow to Timber Hill? Looks like standard practice for brokers these days.

    Hot Keys

Never used multicharts but from a brief internet search, seems like you should be able to program them pretty easily. They're called 'keyboard shortcuts'. https://www.multicharts.com/trading-software/index.php/Keyboard_Shortcuts If that doesn't work, then I don't know. I tried a demo of...

Is rebate trading with near zero commissions the future of active trading?

Rebate trading is the past, not the future. There actually was a time when, if you were working with a firm that already offered low commissions, rebate trading was very lucrative. Now, the structures have changed, the rebates are minimal, the spread is tight, so not so much. Market-making is...

How to work towards going full time

Interesting. If the buy/sell/profit zones were already there before the data ever appeared then that is intriguing. Otherwise, I don't know what I'm looking at. edit: on the other hand it looks like every indicator you have overlayed onto a chart all at once. And the point is...?

    Hot Keys

AMP offers a LOT of platforms. I'm sure you'll have your pick, I can't imagine trading software that doesn't allow hotkeys. I don't know how you can stand tws, the first thing that I did with IB was pay for different front end software. I'm using an antiquated direct access version of...

What is the best direct access software and broker for experienced traders?

I don't recall exactly but when I was investigating the total cost per trade with Lightspeed vs. IB, Lightspeed was cheaper. Whether the passthroughs were higher or commissions were lower, I can't recall but at the end of the day, Lightspeed was more generous.
