Consider exiting. My posting is distracting me from trading...so no more minute by minute updates. Final post, consider exiting with small loss at 112 29. Successful re-test of 112 25 112 26 will lead to new short order OR test of 113 01 => 113 03 will lead to new short order.. No more...

0755 - 0820 We are in a tight rectangular range of 112 25 <=> 112 29. Now price tells us what the next move will be. We may get stopped out, but after the 0730 move, and per my earlier pre-open post, I'm biased to the short side.

Filled at 112 27. Target is a re-test of lows. Tight stop. Do not let this one trade against you! Use a tight stop. Accept the 4 tick loss if necessary!

    Now might be a good short with a tight stop at 112 31. Time is 08:12 CST. Price is 112 26 - 112 27.

I've noticed that volume has picked up on trades starting at 0100 hrs CST. There have been 8 to 10 tick tradeable moves recently. I don't recall seeing this these past few months.

Risky trade and not recommended: My personal experience is that the day after a rather signficant down day on the 30 year bond (and a 32 tick plus down move is signficant), any spike rally off of a report number will be short lived. In other words, if the bonds run up to 113 22 or higher...

Today we have two economic reports to deal with: Durable Goods Orders 7:30 CST 8:30 ET Jobless Claims 7:30 CST 8:30 ET Of the two above reports, traders will probably pay most attention to the durable goods report. Another fundamental note to make on yesterday is that yesterday's...

That was "bought back the ZB's at 114 18", not 114 28. Yesterday was very good to me.

What is wrong with the Treasury Market?

If Friday is a report day, no problem. I would say Friday's are usually up, not dramatically up like yesterday....geesh....yesterday I would be up probably around 2500.00 USD had I traded all day. My usual profit is between 375 and 500. I ended yesterday up 800. That is trading 2 ZB's and...

What is wrong with the Treasury Market?

I had a great day today with bonds. I was wondering if anyone would like to comment on the following observation. I know what the answer is but would like some advice from the great folks here. I have an uncanny ability to nail days like today in the bond market, however days like Monday...

I hope the information was useful. My trades after the above don't really count as there is no timestamp to prove, however, what I did is I sold 2 ZB 114 23 a few minutes after the report, and I sold 4 ZN 109 055. Bought ZB's back at 114 28, and ZN's at 109 020. Great day!

My thoughts are that the market will head lower, at least to 113 22, however, anything is possible with a report, hence my exit with profit. After the report: Breakdowns below 113 22 are probably could for a very quick 6 ticks to 113 16. Breakouts above 114 03 may be good for a quick 7...

What is wrong with the Treasury Market?

Any comments on Existing Home Sales to come out today at 10 EST / 9 CST? I'm short 2 ZB's and 4 ZN's. I'll probably cover prior to the report to lock in my profit.

LivermoreRisen, You are up 287.00 USD on 39 RT? That is a lot of churning to only be up 287.00. Were you down thousands of dollars and made your way back up, or is that a typical day? jp

Dealing with Trend days vs Range days: Psychology and Pulling the Trigger

sulong, The short answer is that most P/V traders have a specific criteria of success/ failure of a test of S/R. A trade is entered or exited only after the specific criteria has been met. Thanks for your post! Dantheman, A quote from one of my favorite movies of all time...

Dealing with Trend days vs Range days: Psychology and Pulling the Trigger

coolweb, Spot on! I like the way you think. The way you speak of consolidation will be my rallying cry to pull the trigger next time it happens. Consolidation appears when consolidation appears! NihabaAshi, Embarrassing to read, but all true. remove all that subjectivity...
