How long did it take for you to find/discover your trading edge?

Yes, they are published, but I've tweaked them. As it stands, 55% success rate, with 1 dollar risk, 3.6 reward. You might be right. I might be missing something.

How long did it take for you to find/discover your trading edge?

Possibly. Either that, or I am incredibly lucky. I do have shitty attention to details, so I may very well be missing something. I did want to add, I'm not new to trading though. I've been trading for 8 years now, so it's not like I just woke up one morning and put together some random...

How long did it take for you to find/discover your trading edge?

How long did it take for you to find/discover your trading edge to the point where you are consistently profitable? Since I've started trading (2009), I have been a 100% discretionary trader, however I've been trying to steer away from that as of very recently. About a week and a half to be...

I like GLD at this level

I would agree that it is unwise to follow the financial media but using them as a contrarian indicator can be bad. They've been touting aapl, amzn, etc and have done a good job in pushing those stocks up.

To what extent does gut feeling/instincts/intuition serve in your trading?

LOL yea, I would agrew that'd qualify as common sense and data analysis Indeed. Backaches were secondary, if not tertiary

I like GLD at this level

I agree on the whole, but I think the USD had more room to go up, especially with trump, thus gold will be under pressure. I'm gonna buy when it goes below $1000 an oz

To what extent does gut feeling/instincts/intuition serve in your trading?

I never said he only uses his gut. I'm sure the implication was that it's on occasion

To what extent does gut feeling/instincts/intuition serve in your trading?

"Gut feel is very important. I don't know of any great professional that doesn't have it." -Michael Marcus Michael Marcus over a 10 year period multiplied his account by 2500 fold. He turned $30,000 to $80,000,000. Although not a billionaire, he has more money than most people on here. I am...

China Would Outlast U.S. in Trade War, Billion-Dollar Fund Says

Is Trump that stupid to start a trade war with China? Was he talking about it just to get some votes? If he does, this will not be good for either side. China's biggest customer is the US. It is in their best interest to keep their biggest customer happy, but of course no matter how big your...

To what extent does gut feeling/instincts/intuition serve in your trading?

The vast majority of the time I ever use this is to get out of a trade. Sometimes I'll enter a trade and literally a minute later, something feels really off about it. I don't know what it is, but this overwhelming sense of unease kicks in, and I'll get out of the trade. I don't really make many...

Your ratio of technical vs fundamental analysis for your trading

Alrighty, fair enough. Btw, that particular comment which you replied to wasn't intended specifically to you. It was just a broad statement to the posters of this thread.

Your ratio of technical vs fundamental analysis for your trading

Wow quite the brouhaha over the holidays from a simple question of TA vs FA. Lol. Who gives a shit if someone uses TA of FA. Whatever works for them works. It really doesn't matter how bad a system or reliability is, as long as it nets green in the P/L statement. If it doesn't work then they'll...

Your ratio of technical vs fundamental analysis for your trading

I wouldn't dismiss it that quickly. I've known a few hedge fund traders and fx traders at big banks who primarily trade off of fundamentals. Jim rogers also only looks at a couple of technicals. Having said that whatever works for one will not work for another so doing what works for you is the...

Your ratio of technical vs fundamental analysis for your trading

That is interesting. I don't think I've ever heard that. I am curious to understand more. Can you give me some examples of a day that was driven by one or the other, and why it was.

Your ratio of technical vs fundamental analysis for your trading

I did a brief search and couldn't find much, so I wanted to ask the question. When you make your trade decisions, how much is the decision technical vs fundamental based?

Is there a demo account to learn how to write options?

TD Ameritrade / Think or Swim has a demo account that you can use to mess round with options. Some say that they are the best for options.

The reason why some people blow up their trading accounts.

I wouldn't say the market system doesn't allow it. Currency pegs will be lifted in the future. Some stocks will go down 50% in a day and if you happened to have a few out of the money puts, you might be lucky to double. Yes this thinking does put people in the poor house but that is not the...
