The National Football League: 2009 edition

Yeah, it wasn't a very good week for most of the games I liked. I'm glad I limited my bets to two games. I haven't looked yet, but I think this is my first net -2 week for the season. 20-13 for the season. Ehh...At least the Colts beat the Patriots and are 5-1 against them in their last 6...

The National Football League: 2009 edition

I don't know. I don't care what he says in front of a TV camera. He didn't have confidence in his defense at that point. And after watching the Colts move the ball for the winning TD and for 21 points in the 4th quarter, I have a hard time blaming him.

The National Football League: 2009 edition

Manning would have had 2 minutes remaining on the clock and all of his time outs. I'm not saying it was Billicheat's best call ever, but I can see what he was thinking. I mean, they didn't break a sweat moving the ball 30 yards for the go ahead TD. Do you think the extra 40 yards would have...

The National Football League: 2009 edition

I would have agreed with you before the NFL made the 2-point rule change, but now it adds another dimension to the game.

Isn't the blonde hugging Ben the girl who is accusing Roethlesburger of rape? Steelers fans couldn't find a better picture?

    Easy Winner Tonight

I probably would have agree before the game, but it's a defensive struggle so far. Well, more like a lack of offense struggle.

The National Football League: 2009 edition

<--------Colts fan since they moved to my hometown. Yes, I watched both games. #18 wasn't as sharp as in the first 6, but 66% is 66%. Addai ran for 39 yds against the Niners until the last drive of the game and ended up with a whopping 62 yds. Manning throwing 48 times and Addai rushing...

The National Football League: 2009 edition

If your QB throws 98 times in two games, you have issues. Their lack of a running game is going to haunt them for the rest of the season. Manning completed 66% of his passes and passed for almost 700 yds against the Niners and Texans. Those games should have been blowouts. Still, I think...

The National Football League: 2009 edition

No money down yet, but I like what I see here. Pats......-120 @Indy -3...Even I like the Colts by 4. Jags........-110 @Jets -6....-110 Jets by a TD Hawks.........-110 @Cards -7.5....-110 Cards by 10. I'm a sucker for points, so I have my eye on these games, too...

The National Football League: 2009 edition

Ever try picking games against the spread? With the typical 1.1:1 risk vs. reward, averaging (over several seasons) a 60% winning percentage is pretty amazing. Consistently averaging above 70% is god-like.

The National Football League: 2009 edition

So the Cards look great again. I can't remember another team that was so up and down over two seasons like the Cardinals. It looks like the Bengals are the real deal this year. I thought it was all Carson Palmer, but apparently the defense came to play this year, too. I don't know what...

The National Football League: 2009 edition

Texans @Colts (-9)...Texans Panthers @Saints (-13)...Panthers I'm taking the points in the Texans/Colts game. The spread moved against me a little, but it shouldn't matter. I think the Colts win by a TD or less. Might end up regretting backing Delhomme, but he's never lost to the Saints...

    The weather is completely random

Without enough data, EVERYTHING is random. 1000 years ago the gods controlled the weather and it was impossible to know what kind of mood they would be in tomorrow or any other day. 1000 years from now we might be able to kill the butterfly that flapped its wings in Japan and started the...

    The weather is completely random

No. They couldn't. I'd like to know who came up with that idea, and why people keep perpetuating the myth without questioning it. Just like numbers, we can string together letters for an infinity. The myth assumes the monkeys would eventually type every possible outcome which, just like...

Who is this Tim Sykes.? He seems like a big douchebag

Or with his trading strategy he averages $100 profit for every winner and a $2000 loss for every loser. I'm pretty sure I could claim 95% winners with a strategy like that.

Meet the New Boss, Obama; Same as the Old Boss, Bush

For the really important issues, the ones that actually steer this country into prosperity or collapse, it matters little if a Democrat or a Republican is in office. Though the extremists on the left and right of the distraction we call a two-party political system will go to the grave blaming...

the back story on Allan Greenspan

Greenspan was probably a genius, but geniuses can be wrong just like everyone else, though usually with greater consequences. I believe his biggest faults have deep roots in Ayn Rand's nonsense. There's nothing like real world experiences to prove pure capitalism works about as well as pure...

Home Ownership: the path to slavery

So if I remove $280K from my bank account to pay off my house early, I'm in a better position to buy a house in a depressed market? And if I keep my $280K and lose my job, why couldn't I ride out the storm on my savings? And inflation is obviously a risk over the next decade or longer. Who's...
