    Who is buying this trash?

sounds like you've been reading too much bullshit from krugman. ~0.5% of bitcoin transactions are illicit vs 2-4% for fiat. It's really dumb to do illegal transactions on a medium where every transaction has a permanent public record.

real time alerts on discount to nav

can I get real time alerts whenever GBTC's discount to nav exceeds 20%? Ycharts seems to only do end of day for that. I saw GBTC's discount to nav move >10% intraday today.

Australia’s property boom making the nation poorer

Australia is one of the least population-dense countries in the world. There is no reason for property to be expensive there except regulatory capture. I don't know about the conditions in australia, but in the SF bay area it takes years of lawyering up to get approval to build ANYTHING.

    Who is buying this trash?

US public debt is still exploding, but the portion of it held by foreigners is flat. The continued financial stability of the US depends upon a steady supply of new suckers to buy its treasuries at negative real yields. Who are these domestic suckers and why haven't they switched to bitcoin yet?

Wow, sector(crypto) rotation is finally happening

Shitcoins rise more in the late stages of every BTC bull market because plebs think they missed the BTC gains so they channel their FOMO into shitcoins that they think might be "the next bitcoin". Plus Elon Musk has been shilling for dogecoin constantly. It's still super early though. Long...

It is official Tether is a fraud

If anyone really thinks tether is a fraud, have fun shorting it against USD in a speculative attack. But it's not a fraud. The OP is just a retarded misinterpretation of Tether's financial statements. Also, nobody is printing tethers out of thin air to pump bitcoin. Whenever people want to...

It is official Tether is a fraud

Commercial paper defaults are less correlated with each other than mortgages, and much shorter duration eliminates interest rate change risk. Even the safest 30-year mortgage in the world can lose half its value if interest rates go up 2-3%. I don't see any difference between what Tether is...

It is official Tether is a fraud

Way less fraudulent than banks putting 97% of their assets mortgages during a housing bubble. A diversified portfolio of commercial paper is way less risky than even the highest rated mortgage, because it has less risk from changes in interest rates and general price levels.

It is official Tether is a fraud

Bitcoin is not in any way "backed by tether" Tether is just one stablecoin of many that are only used because they're more convenient for moving fiat around between exchanges than the legacy banking system. Stablecoin printing goes up whenever people deposit money to exchanges. It's a symptom...

GBTC to trade at a discount to BTC this year?

Lol yesterday it reached 19% discount to NAV, but it's guaranteed to go back to 0 if it gets converted to an ETF. It's a question of when the SEC will approve that, not if. There's no plausible consumer-protection argument to oppose the ETF conversion.

    Cost basis of non-covered securities

IB has all the info they need to automatically calculate my cost basis for noncovered securities, same as for covered securities. Why not go ahead and calculate it and include that on my 1099? I don't want to have to manually calculate all my cost bases for all my SPAC warrant trades.

    IB Set liquidate last

What I do is just make rows for each individual leg of the spread, and set those to liquidate last individually.

TWS showing bid higher than ask on GBTC

\ TWS is showing a bid higher than the ask on GBTC. Also another time when I entered a bid equal to the ask on CCX warrants, I didn't get a fill. I even tried setting my bid 1 cent higher than the ask. Still no fill. WTF is going on? I guess GBTC is OTC thus exempt from reg NMS, but those...
