I see we're commenting on a lot of the speed stuff now, but speed doesn't necessarily make a great solo. I want to bring up the guy that said 'Since I've been Loving You' by Page. That solo was awesome too. I distinctly remember the live one he did on the Led Zep video movie of Zep at MSG...

no I don't, but thanks for the rec. when Gillis/Watson get going they're like nobody else. You know Gillis was hired by ozzy in the mid-1980s and did a tour with Ozzy. They recorded a live album, I forget the name now. I had the pleasure of meeting both those guys back a few years ago...

as far as guitar eras go, most awesome period was the late 80s/early 90s when all those hair bands came out. George Lynch of Dokken was another notable one. check out Mr Scary

guys, forgot 1;that is 'Rainbow in the Dark" by DIO. toward the middle of the solo the guy (Vivian Campbell) actuallly dis-connects from reality and goes onto his own. something I was talking about in my last post... blackguard
