22" LCD $180 one day only

I run a 19" acer and I've been very happy with the brand. I've never had my hands on a sceptre though so I can't really comment, although I do remember there were some generally good reviews on the 19" sceptres that were selling on newegg 2-3 years ago.

Why does no one here give detailed trading advice?

I forgot to add, that losing money is a rite of passage - also commonly referred to as tuition. Successful traders have all paid it, why would they give up the fruits of their labor to someone who is not willing to pay the costs? Livermore himself has said that when you finally learn...

Why does no one here give detailed trading advice?

There are trade secrets in everything. That is why there exist mentor-apprentice relationships in craft. I can give you examples of once closely guarded trade secrets, such as KFC's secret herbs and spices or the secret formula to Coca-Cola. The point is though, even if you knew the recipe could...

Use random walk to make $$$

Random walk doesn't exist. The fact that there is a correlation between stocks within the same industry group or the broad market as a whole on decisive up/down days puts random walk to rest. If it was truly random walk, would you ever see two graphs in the same industry that look the same...

    prop trading--license question

A lot of firms have a list of acceptable brokers where you can have an account. The lists are generally short and comprised of retail brokers like tda, schwab, etc. There are usually restrictions on how often you can trade and a lockup period as well. Your friend should really go speak to his...

Dow really a good indicator of the economy?

There is over a 97% correlation between the Dow and S&P. That being said, the S&P is a slightly better representation of the economy due to the inclusion of smaller market-cap stocks.

Are "Bear Raids" a bunch of BS?

I can't believe people don't believe bear raids and all sorts of manipulation still occur in this day and age. Think about it. If you had oodles of cash and floor traders in your employ, wouldn't you collude to take out some stops or squeeze an overshorted stock? I would.

Cornering a stock is a good trading strategy, I think!

In reality cornering doesn't work too well. When word gets out that you are running a corner, the price will run away from you. It also requires tremendous capital.

    "The end of equities"

What happened to "we are not in a bear market", yadda yadda yadda... I can go back into your quotes and pull out some pretty asinine statements. The markets will bottom when they are ready to bottom. In fact, I am seeing the indexes weakening right here and will probably put on a short.

Insiders agree with ME, I'm talking names.

All trades are speculative in some form. There is no way oil could have broken out based on a couple speculators manipulating prices. There is much greater demand than supply, which is pegged to some hidden fundamental reason you and I don't know about. But someone knows about it and is...

    Installing XP pro from nothing

Format the harddrive, have Win XP on a cd. Go into bios (usually something like F9 or F12 when starting up), make it boot from the cd drive and save it. Put in the Win XP cd and restart. It will install automatically just follow the instructions on screen.

    Need career advice, please help

imo, $8000 is nowhere near the amount of capital you would need to do statistical arbitrage, a strategy which generally emphasizes risk management and an acceptance of decreased returns. A 30% return on $8000 is not enough to live on... in addition stat arb has a high win rate but is equivalent...

I am payin dinner for entire ET, Monday is down for market

C- kid, great live call. Don't worry about the haters, Wycoff himself once wrote that the money to be made is from prediction and anticipation rather than simply reacting to what happens.
