8.5 Gb DVD-RW media really exist?

I meant= Longest archive shelf life of any data storage media, 100 years. So you will be 127 years old and still be able to watch videos of the good old days when you were 27. LOL No idea when it will be available though.

8.5 Gb DVD-RW media really exist?

After terabyte theres petabyte then exabyte. So 1.5 exabytes is like 1,500,000 terabytes. A race to see who can cram more info on one DVD type disc.

8.5 Gb DVD-RW media really exist?

At least they're making it backwards compatible to DVD's. So we can still watch our old DVD movies in a Blu Ray player. One site talks about 1.5 Exabyte discs. LOL

8.5 Gb DVD-RW media really exist?

Even if you found it, it would not be cost effective. DL DVD-R are already $2.30 each when you can get regular DVD-R at 0.35 each.

    Advice on car

Ok, you say America sucks, I say yes it does suck but the rest of the world sucks more. Ted N. Since we've resorted to trashing others products, I'll have to say Jap Mobiles are classified in category's 5 year and 10 year. Look it up. That's why you don't see them with a ton of miles for...

    Advice on car

Thanks. When I was in school I worked as a mechanic, then worked at Ford Research & Engineering near the old proving grounds. So I know a little.

    Nasdaq in 2008

That's a great example. Basically risk free fearless trading knowing you can't lose. Although for myself I still would use stocks. The depreciation always seems to kill me in options, even when I'm 100% correct.

    Nasdaq in 2008

I realize I can come up with something that gives 100% security combining the correct proportion of stocks and bonds or long term CD. I never gave much thought to options though. I've never had any luck in options so I never explored them fully. Can you give me an example?

    Nasdaq in 2008

I have a 3 year account expiring that was locked in the S&P 500. The deal was a cap on profits at 30% for 3 years but absolutely no risk to principle. Now they soured the deal a bit and lowered the cap to 25% for 3 years max but also added the Nasdaq as an option. Knowing that the markets...

    Advice on car

I remember seeing a lot of imports in the 1970's. They did have around 20% of the market and near 30% by 1984. Where did they all go? Also I am always looking at Autotrader.com and notice a lot of GM cars with a ton of miles. One recently a 2000 Cadillac Deville with 370,000 miles and still...

    Advice on car

That's a pretty general idiotic statement. How many foreign cars of the 70's do you see on the road? Not too many, yet there's still a lot of American cars still going from the 70's. I have owned many GM cars that I put over 300,000 miles on with little problems. Also from a few posts...

Natural Gas is going up up up!

I'm working on ways to stop using the stuff entirely. It's a bit expensive but once I get everything in place I can give the middle finger to the gas company's.:D

Did JJC *Jim James Cramer* have a falling out with some of CNBC staff?

I've always liked Cramer for the entertainment. Also nobody else has the balls to make such bold calls like he does. I like him even more lately since he made one of my long term positions skyrocket, (ESLR). Thanks Cramer.

    This market wizard needs help

Much better, having had mostly lousy strategy's and just a few great ones, but that's not the point. I don't care what they say, there's risk in anything. Just because he had a max drawdown of 4% doesn't mean that his system won't collapse tomorow. So if you agree with this so far then the...

    This market wizard needs help

The last 5 year performance is dreadful at 21.6% total. You could have put away your money in a long term CD earning 5% and made 27% with absolutely no risk.

I have a system also that does not use charts, only a spreadsheet. It works but is too slow these days and takes more stomach than reward. Your chartless system sounds much better than mine.
