    Wine - long/short?

I also like the Pinot Noir Estancia, very nice red. An interesting fact regarding the Pinot Noir is that even though it's a French wine it's produced in California. This is possible because half of the barrels are made up of French Oak the other half being California Oak. Chateau St...

    Anybody making any real $$$???

FWIW, I trade next to two traders who both have less than 1 year experience. Both of them have been profitable for a while. They both average in the 8 to 10k monthly range. They have done this by ONLY trading 2 stocks which they know very well. These are high beta NYSE stocks which follow the...

    RediPlus Thread

Actually, thinking about it I think you might have to have an open position to remove it using the Equity Doneaway feature. As Gilda Radner's character was fond of saying. NEVER MIND....

    Bollinger Bands on Spreads

Yes, I'm talking about matched pairs also, market neutral if you prefer. Do you track the spread between the 2 prices?. If you do then AT has that capability, as well as adding mov .averages, BB's etc.

    RediPlus Thread

It removes the position from your position monitor, you have to know how much commissions Redi is subtracting from your P/L and factor that in. For example if you go to average price and see that you have sold KO @ and avg. price of 58.00 and that Redi is taking out .012 in commissions then you...

    Bollinger Bands on Spreads

AT Financial has a nice setup for spreads and BB's can be put around the spreads but I don't think it has 3 point break charts.

    RediPlus Thread

You could use the Equity Doneaway feature, but your compliance officer might not like that too much. Or you could use a simple Excel spreadsheet which can be directly linked to RediPlus and track it that way.

    CNBC Ticker

I've found the ticker useful when nothing has been going on to get an idea of where the money is going. I look for unusual prints (NYSE) on stocks that normally wouldn't be getting that size. There are a couple of ex-floor traders at my office who trade off it, and they spot irregularites...

    Anybody making any real $$$???

There are plenty of people who trade mutual funds using timing techniques and sector plays who are certainly not day traders and I can assure you are making a lot more than 10% returns. Take a look at HOLDR's and ETF's, and you'll find plenty of sectors moving 10% in one month. Gary Smith...
