    Usd/chf

It's just a guess based on what I've seen the past few days.

Seeing today's price action, I'm almost willing to bet that 1.02 will be the bottom for 2009.

Is it useless to prepare for the collapse?

I don't know what Bernanke will do, but I hope you're not referring to City Center in the second part of your post. Most of the people hired will be those who were laid off at MGM properties or will be transferred over from their existing job. Las Vegas still has a very long way to go before it...

gold ... but the exchange rate?

I'm not an expert on gold by any means, but the value on a gold piece is just a nominal value. Its real value would be determined by how many ounces of gold it contains. So to answer your question, let's say that your money is denominated in Euros. If 1 ounce of gold is selling for $1000 and 1...

HSBC bids farewell to dollar supremacy

It looks like it's time to get on the long dollar train for now. Every analyst seems to think that the dollar is doomed.

    Dollar bulls, make your case.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Rick Santelli: They shouldnt have bailed out anyone!

Others have mentioned this before, but Rick Santelli is one of the few reasons to keep watching CNBC. It's a shame that they won't give him his own show, but then again, this is CNBC we're talking about.

    Make a living trading FOREX?

If you don't mind me asking, how do you trade OPM? Do you need to register as a CTA and set up your trading account differently? Thanks.

    Dollar bulls, make your case.

What did you mean when you said that EUR/JPY is dominated by Russians? Are you saying that they hold the most Euros and Yen as foreign reserves? Thanks.

    Telemarketers

Whether it was intentional or not, I think it was brilliant how she turned the tables on the telemarketer. Most telemarketers stick to a pre-scripted routine and don't know what to do if they have to improvise on the spot. This telemarketer gets flustered and hangs up at the end when he realizes...

    Telemarketers

Good for her. She showed the telemarketer who's boss. In my experience, many telemarketers are overly aggressive and simply refuse to quit when you've indicated that you're not interested. We need more of people like her to scare off telemarketers. :D

Any reason not to trade 6E over EURUSD?

10 contracts shouldn't be a problem for any liquid futures contract including 6E.

Any reason not to trade 6E over EURUSD?

Good point - 0.25 percent (750 contracts) sounds much more reasonable. :D

Any reason not to trade 6E over EURUSD?

Hi cunparis, 6E trades around 300,000 contracts per day so I would guess that 5 percent of that (2.5 percent each side) is a safe limit before you start running into liquidity and fill issues.

    montey hall problem

I'm not sure this will answer your question, but the Monty Hall problem works because the game show host knows what is behind the doors even before you select them. If the game show host is in the same boat as you, then the normal probability of 1/3 would apply. I'm assuming that the Deal or No...

how did people get it in their heads that long housing is an investment

Here's a few reasons why buying real estate is an attractive proposition for many: 1. Fundamentals: Since land is a finite resource, it tends to increase in value during inflationary periods. Unlike stocks, real estate cannot be worth zero (excluding situations such as environmental...

    Is the Futures trading risky?

Not necessarily. A big difference between stocks and futures is that you can only get 4:1 leverage with stocks while you can get high (>50:1) leverage with some futures. If leverage is not used, then trading futures is not all that different from trading stocks (ES and SPY for example). It is...

    EUR/USD

I'm looking for a selloff too this afternoon. Options expiration days are never predictable, and there won't be much action since London is closed, but I'm hoping to pick up a few pips.

    EUR/USD

I'm currently looking to short EUR/USD at 1.4326. My reasoning is that 11:15-11:30 was a lower high from this morning's price action. Stop loss will be 1.4335 and I'm looking to take profit at 1.4300.
