yep.... thats right... I trade 3-4 hours per day and on average have 3-5 trades... its a waiting game that requires me to wait and watch for price to do those things that I watch for in a setup. the only advantage that I have over you is that i trade a dozen symbols, so i am constantly looking...

sounds like you are getting discouraged, you might try what some above have suggested... pick one setup only and decide how you will trade it (decide setup, how you will enter, and how you will manage the trade) look only for that one setup without all the market detail you tend to look for...

OK... here are my NQ trades... as discussed above, what i saw premarket was a lot of chop in a 10 point range, so I was looking for a breakout above the overnight high or below the overnight low. I know you don't want to trade with the trend, but thats what I do and you can see my trades below...

yep... bottom line is that you have to manage trades better.

we all trade different... for me the 10 point range you show is chop, so I would have only traded breakouts of that range, not reversals off the high or low of the range. just not enough space in the range to make money given a trader can't get perfect entries and exits.

one thing you might do before the open is "look" at a longer term chart 5min or 10 or 15... what ever you are comfortable with... when i looked, it looked like a lot of chop into the open which made me hesitate on any trades...and you had only 1 chance to short as price rose to the overnight...
