I do not watch TV/news etc.. when trading.

I don't know any serious trader that doesn't have CNBC, Bloomberg and several other news sources on while trading. News is what moves markets, bottom line, enjoy your BS TA

    Multiple prop accounts

Hey, is it up to each individual firm as to whether or not they will allow you to have multiple accounts at different firms including multiple prop and multiple retail accounts or is there any sort of actual regulation that says you cannot do this? Thanks

Best way to play the VIX long term

I suppose the VIX is just like Crude and Nat Gas where you simply have to be able to time the trade and not just have a long term bullish stance because the backwardation and contango completely mess with it

Best way to play the VIX long term

What is the best way to play the VIX long term? I don't know when it's going to spike, it could be a long time from now, but I'd like to be there when it happens. The VXX is fairly useless over the long term and I don't think options are the way to play it. Would VIX futures make sense or is...

Vancouver Real Estate - Would you Buy?

Very true, tons of foreign buyers in Vancouver, specifically from China makes the price/income ratio much less important than what some are thinking. The Vancouver real estate market will head higher for another year or two, after that it's pretty darn hard to forecast but real estate is a slow...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Unfortunately it will NEVER be dead. We've done a terrific job fighting this and we have to continue doing so because there are too many idiots out there to keep bringing up the virtues of a tobin tax regardless of the environment. Keep on fighting ya'll

Intrade saying that Brown is basically a lock

Intrade has had Republican Brown stock rapidly rising and basically predicting a near certainty that the seat left my the late Ted Kennedy will be taken by a Republican which in my opinion is an absolutely ENORMOUS positive for the market.

Intrade has the odds of Gordon Browns Labour party winning at 11.9% while the conservatives have an 87% chance of winning... seems like a lock, intrade isn't in the business of giving away money with ridiculous odds.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

There are no sources.. considering their stories always cite such old information I think it's pretty obvious they're flying by the seat of their pants. There should be a tax every time a reporter cites a "source" to give himself credibility when there is none...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

You're right, there will be holes and we will be able to find them but trading will change immensely and what's the point of putting ourselves in a situation where we have to get creative and possibly pass up on opportunities because of this tax? Let's just keep fighting as hard as we can and...
