IB TWS: Foreign Cash conversions Ideal / Ideal Pro

+1 Unfortunately they don't seem to care too much about their customers.

Money is missing from the IB account

Did any FX trades? Check Account>FX Portfolio: Drop down the whole thing and see if you have any positions there. Frequently people do not realize that they still have FX positions open that can move against them (well-known design problem in TWS).

Tail wagging the dog... dollar or equities?

This implies that the US equities market and all the world currencies taken together is the same size. That's not the case. The latter market is much bigger. (Philosophically sure it may be said that it is not the moon that is turning around the earth but they are together travelling on...

    A noob question about currencies/forex

What do you mean "just of the euro"? Did you read http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/fx/fx/euro-fx_contract_specifications.html? It is clearly stated there that you trade "EUR/USD futures". Same for all the other liquid CME futures (all GBP/USD, AUD/USD etc.). You never compare a...

Long 5360 for good: Target 5400, possibly much more. Close stop: 5350. (Another crazy rallye?)

Will TD ameritrade offer futures, forex post ThinkorSwim acquisition?

Sorry - why do they have to bother about clearing and stuff? They do not supply quotes for futures. Therefore their quote feed is close to worthless. You don't need clearing for quotes.

Will TD ameritrade offer futures, forex post ThinkorSwim acquisition?

Pretty strange: Currently they offer quote data only for stocks and options - no futures! Not quite professional.

    Short DAX at 7740

Yup. Longer term signs not yet indicating that the big storm is coming (it is due but kept back by some people with big pockets).

Market wanted to go down hard. It was probably the PPT which saved it (once again). Singular heavy action on ES, not followed to this extent by european futures.

Another huge gap up in the midst of recession. @ASusilovic: May I ask why you aren't bearish in this case?

An idea on how to screw the bund algos

Just check it. Save a high-speed quotefeed's output to disk and do some analysis on it. No simple hints like this can be found there. Those people are not dumbstruck. Not much sophistication needed to have some pseudo-activity on the other side of the ladder too. Should keep in mind that...

Nice trendline configuration, pretty intraday pattern and - for the most - massive program trading / covering.

Assume major upmove now (CET 10:54).

Though I am german, I do not think re-election of Merkel is really hot news for the international markets. In other words: There were no news. Also quite clear program trading activities today (pump and dump). Btw: meanwhile the futures are following since around 9:40 CET and I am long.

Bigger downturn ahead. This seems to be only hayfire. International futures not following sufficiently.

Quotetracker now $14 per month for InteractiveBrokers

... if you don't mind the bugs they have in their IB interface (artificial volume spikes and others) that are there for years and which they do not bother to fix.

Know how to program, don't know how to trade. Where do I begin?

Please specify what you mean with "not so good at trading"? If it means that you are not so familiar with terms like bid, ask, dom and so on it would be essential to get a firm understanding of these. However I think you are beyond this already and looking for a way to apply existent...

Anyone write a Visual Basic program to help their trading?

Agree, VB is easy. Interfacing to a trading API is quite easy also (about 100 lines of code). To show what is very difficult just one example from the list: What is quite heavy: To formulate this in a mathematic form that can be understood by a computer. What means "effect"? -...

If Dollar goes to hell, and that's a big if,

The question itself is a quite good indicator that we're in for USD going up soon (equities going under once again).

    EUR/USD

1.44 has to be tested again (at least some number close to it). Depending on the results the way far down or up is free (more probable failing and hard reset down).
