DAT, you mention "I can do reserve orders that let me hide my true total volume but that is obviously not a hidden order". I am a little confused with this statement.I thought if you can hide your size displayed on Level 2 and the particular ECN's book, then that would be a hidden order.So what...

DAT, i'm pretty sure you can put hidden orders on INCA and ARCA,as well as ISLD; i'm not sure about the other ECN's...let me know when you find out if ARCA and REDI trade with other ECN's hidden orders. Thanks.

Uptik, do you know if Echo has volume minimums before they ask you to leave, if they do?

I heard if you trade at least 600,000 shares or more per month, they waive the $600 desk fee. Anyone at Echo care to add or correct me if i'm wrong?

Also, 1.8 cents per share commission is a rip off compared to a .01 a share. Average say 30,000 shares a day and you end up paying $60,000 extra in commissions per year when that could end up in your pocket paying only a .01 a share.

To add to the above post,their commissions are only .01 a share.

DAT, thanks for the info.,you answered all my questions. So basically, I see that you have to be really careful when entering orders into Island. You could be filled on a buy order a point higher than the inside offer if you enter a bid a point higher by mistake.

Am i bid at 50 on level 2, but 50.25 on the Island book?

This question is addressed to anyone,preferably someone trading at a pro firm. The Nasdaq quote for whatever stock is 50.00 x 50.01 with a 1000 shares offered on Island at 50.01 with the next offer price on Island at say 51. Now i put in a buy limit order on Island for 2000 shares at a price...

MSFT,QCOM,EBAY,VRSN,QLGC,VRTS,NVDA,BRCM,BRCD and EMLX, just to name a few are all volatile stocks great for day,preferably, or swing trading.

Island only accepts limit orders,not market orders. And to add, QQQ trades on AMEX not NYSE.

You can get price improvement on Nasdaq. If a stock is 50.20 x 50.30 on Nasdaq, and you go to buy 1000 at 50.30 on Island with a hidden order on Island that's offering 1000 at 50.25, you will get filled at 50.25, thereby receiving price improvement.
