POLL: Are you a home run champ or a batting average champ?

One has to realize when in a home run situation; then swing. Banks at BKX 665, was a home-run for us. Sold most Friday. Other than that, consistency counts, especially with losers, keep 'em small always. best, david

best place to learn and start trading

Just passing along what I heard..know nothing 'bout them - except that they they "think" they are "white-shoe"; and seem to conduct themselves in that manner. Best to you, David

Traders: How are we different from the rest?

Sounds nice! I am jealous..I live in the now always dreary and rainy Northeast. Right down the block from an overflowing river! Flood watch! Trading around the world would be sweet indeed. Best David

Traders: How are we different from the rest?

I think you will find that most of us who undertake the trading endeavor are fiercely independent creatures. And most likely hate authority, and like being free to make own choices. I worked at Merrill for 12 years in capacities such as technology and equity research. (Felt like an actor)...

going to 1077 on the s&p500

Agreed...just looking at other cycles, and IMO it's not out of the question at this point. Too much easy money made on SS...pendulum coming back to equilibrium. Anyway, just a scenario, I can "see"; Just a roadmap, not a script. Trading accordingly! Best, David

going to 1077 on the s&p500

    11. The myopic focus on making $$$ by shorting... Lots of overeducated idiots laid off from bulge houses formed hedge funds in past 3 years..they have made a mint by shorting..just as the dopey retailer did playing long in the late 90's....equilibrium is coming back to these jokers.

going to 1077 on the s&p500

I figure it this way: 1. 50% retracement from SP Hi close 1527 to low 767; look back at prior cycles, Japan..even during Great Depression we had massive counter-trend move of 155% 2. Election year cycle, after long bear 66-70 (similar to 5/70-1/73); 45% counter-trend rally into...

My Beef Against Contrarian Sentiment TA

EBAY, AMZN, YHOO, USAI, homebuilders...the new "Nifty 50" People have been "too" conditioned to be bearish, myself included. Honestly I have 2 scenarios... 1. A counter-trend rally like 5/70-1/73 in the election cycle; poor fundies ..but rally anyway repeat...we look very much like...

My Beef Against Contrarian Sentiment TA

There is a "sea-change" occurring in my opinion. This period looks alot like the post 1966 move..a massive runup from 1942-66 (like 82-2000); based on productivity and innovation. Then a 29% decline in the markets into 1970, with attendant denial rallies notwithstanding...Vietnam the...

How have you done in this latest rally?

Caught the entire move finally..started to make sales at my price tgt of 985, today. (made BTW in early April...that was for Jessie J.!!) Seriously, got crushed in the prior six, by shorting too early, and vowed to myself I would get this one right. Feels good, after f&%^%king it up 6...
