Since monday anyone who sold put and had stock assigned to them is it possible that if a lot of puts were sold that you might see a drop in prices from people trying to unload stock quickly before it might go lower?

I sold 75 contracts GE strike of 13 for this may 11. When I sold them I got 1.26 premium on may 11 GE was over 14 How come the buyer paid 1.26 and never sent the assignment notice, GE closed under 13 today. So this person just threw away 9450 dollars? not including commision of course.

Looks like my GEWEM may strike 13 calls will expire worthless hopefully. I never got assigned though even though there was not much time value, not sure why. I sold 75 contracts for 1.26 to GE is still under 13. The commision was 66.24 (etrade) hopefully GE stays under 13 tonight...

but wont the dividend payout do the opposite since it means retained earnings decrease and GM has to borrow more money to pay dividends? I figure a cut would actually show the market GM is serious about fixing itself and would prop the price up.

I doubt that was the reason.

They were losing money but paying dividends. Why would a company choose to pay a dividend even though they are reporting negative EPS every quarter. Maybe if GM stopped paying dividend years ago they might have been in better shape? They were paying dividends even in 2008.
