You have missed some things on the Optionetics site. Do the 30 day free trial of their Platinum software. Brooks

    Alexander Elder

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I disagree with you. It appears that Link has done far more actual trading than Elder or Tharp. I suggest that anyone thinking of buying or reading it, read the reviews on Amazon.com. 47 reviews, 4.5 stars average. Only the better trading books...

ES vs ER2 vs NQ vs YM?

What thoughts are there on which of these are easiest (i.e. less difficult) to trade? Do any of them trend more than others/ I know YM is $5/tick vs. $12.50 for ES. Any thoughts appreciated. Brooks

    Alexander Elder

He wrote an excellent book titled "High Probability Trading". Its very comprehensive, similar to ones from Elder and Tharp. In the book and on the cover, it says: "Mr. Link can be reached for questions or comments at marcel@linkfutures.com. Questions to his email go unanswered and...

    Tradestation & Simulated Trading???

I have not used TS since 4.0. Does the present version contain any features to simulate realtime trading? If not, are there any third-party products to use with it to: - simulate realtime trading during market hours and/or - simulate realtime trading by playing back saved data...

    Optionetics vs. Optionvue

I have owned OV and subscribed to Optionetics and prefer Optionetics. OV is expensive and everything is ala carte. The software is one price, the background database is another price and I believe the scanner is another price. These must be paid forever. The period for free support is very...

Dilemma in creating a system ...

Sounds like an interesting guy. I doubt if he's hiring and if so he's undoubtedly looking for MBAs from Wharton.

Dilemma in creating a system ...

I believe two people have recommended ER2 over ES. Why is that? I assume it trends better ...? How can you measure that? Brooks

Dilemma in creating a system ...

Thanks for the post. The first link was 342 pages!!! Hard to know where to start. Are you trading it? 2nd thread was a more reasonable 33 pages. Got through most of it. Very interesting. This ARCARY fellow appears to be a very successful mechanical trader. Apparently both types...

Dilemma in creating a system ...

Probably about 5-10% watching the market, 10% analyzing raw quote data and 80-85% coding and backtesting. I'm open to discretionary, but my previous life was business programming, so I started there. It seems there are many more (successful) discretionary traders. They also seem to...

Dilemma in creating a system ...

I'll answer the second question first. I'd have a hard (impossible?) time trading a system that had a 60 day drawdown (May - June). I think the key factors are profit per trade, profit factor, Sharpe ratio, maxDD/totalPL. Then there is opportunity, there must be enough trades. Brooks

Dilemma in creating a system ...

Some of the strategies I've been trying to program lately are: 1. An opening range breakout based on an article by Kevin Ho. https://www.lbrgroup.com/images///tooI_kelvin1.pdf 2. An ES scalping method using Parabolic SAR based partially on work by...
