Forex factory looks good for the past, but I was wondering if there was a source that could measure the impact ahead of time -or if forex factory already does this? Econoday does the yellow red star, but they seem to be very crude.

I've been using Econoday which is free, however the yellow and red stars are not the best for indicating which pieces of news are important. Is there a news source that indicates the importance of each piece of news accurately?

The level 2 is meaningless. Volume shows real trades. I don't know what to use level 2 in this era. Bernanke speaks today -usually there is low volume before this happens.

vxx is the best vix etf, but why trade it? Those etfs are inaccurate and have suprises. Even vxx does not have that much volume, compared to futures. I know etf arb is profitable, but are futures not good enough -plenty of volume in futures to scale up. Where am I wrong with this?

Did you look at their earnings any more than eps? $2.8 is bad by the way. Lots of companies trade under book value -all financial stocks trade under or a little higher than book value. Unions are bad -and the government may be forced to liquidate their position -lower prices for us!
