    Level 2 trading.

im sure there are traders somewhere out there that trade purely off of level II information, and their tactics and methodology could be highly profitable, but in my experience i have found the level II to be incredibly devious and misleading. the real supply and demand is different than the...

Gold Stocks - buying the break...

http://www.gold-eagle.com/editorials_05/chan061306.html im not trading the gold market either way, except occasional intraday setups, but i ran across this article yesterday and thought that some may find it of interest on this thread. jm

    When to exit.

you can do this in many ways, and there is no one way to do it. there are specific "trailing stop" orders that allow you to specify how you would like to trail the current price. in its simplest form, a trailing stop simply follows the price as it advances/declines, moving the stop with it...

How do I find mutual funds in "specific sectors"

use the fund screener at morningstar. it allows you to virtually screen for anything specific regarding all mutual funds. this might be a "premier" feature, but you can get a 2 week free trial with it and then cancel. try it out. i think it'll do what you need it to... jm

Moving into an apartment as a trader...

JMowery, just take a look around (i think someone had already recommended this) and see what you can come up with. you might not even need a credit card. it might not be a bad idea, but its probably not the only option (ive never used a card before). i was able to get my own apt in seattle...

how do you filter stocks for your trading?

i would love to help you out with some ideas, but its very hard to address your question specifically, because its trying to cover something incredibly expansive in a vague fashion. i have multiple screens that i use in my trading, but they all look for different criteria, serve a different...

    Daytrading Candidates

i already have a basket i trade, although its not necessarily sector specific...just wondering what type of typical ATR you look for? i currently screen for volume, volatility, and sometimes linear regression, but im not constantly changing the ones i watch...just curious...

    Daytrading Candidates

what type of ATR are you generally looking for? that seems to make sense...i currently look for the volume + volatility mix, but i might be able to implement an ATR filter as well... jm

    Daytrading Candidates

Just wondering how some of you select your basket of daytrading opportunities? In the past I've primarily been a swing trader, although I have occasionally mixed in a little daytrading if I happened to run across an opportunity. Now, I'm starting to implement daytrading into my overall...

    Intraday Screener

well, basically, Trade-Ideas is great for other screens and I have close to 20 + others that I use, but when it comes to finding the chart patterns, I have never found it to be reliable. That's why I'm in search of possibly another similar program that can find these formation setups with a...

    Intraday Screener

Anyone aware of an intraday screener that has the ability to locate specific chart formations (triangles, flags, pennants) on 3 and 5 min intervals? I've been using Trade-Ideas for a while, and even though it has a "feature" similar to this, I haven't had much success with it. Any ideas...
