What's the general strategy for people on this forum?

on a side note you could always try www.trade2win.com. i always use ET, but there might be something there that fits your needs. it seems to be much more comprehensive and specific, but it's very clustered, and i've never sifted through it.

What's the general strategy for people on this forum?

i'm not talking about research... i'm talking about a plan, where you have thought out in ADVANCE what you would do given any particular market condition at the time. this way, you won't have to worry about when "X" happens, because you have already strategized a contingency plan beforehand...

What's the general strategy for people on this forum?

give it time. it's not going to happen overnight. i'm still working on it, trading incredibly light, and if it takes another few years, thats fine with me. i love trading and im not after getting rich quick, so a little patience and perspective are my best friends at the moment. happy...

    tracking performace with IB

i have been manually tracking my performance for quite a while, and other than the obvious reasons of it being not only tedious, but tiresome, i have began to look for an "easier" method. is anyone familiar with ways in which this can be done? i'm sure that this may seem like a stupid question...

    IB - Backfill data problem

you can also backfill using DTN market access. it is delayed, but it works fine for backfilling purposes. double-click on a chart, choose data tab, switch to DTN, go back to chart and refresh, then switch back to IB for snapshot refresh. jon

Question about earnings report vs change in stock price

a very basic answer would be that it is not about the specific numbers that are reported, but more about the expectations of the market. if company x is expected to be up 50%, but they report an increase of 25% then a clear divergence of what was supposed to happen and what did happen takes...

Best simple software for IB data

ensign also works well. $40/month ensignsoftware.com i was originally having some data issues with it, but if you can manage to throw everything you need onto 1 layout, rather than separate them across multiple pages it works fine.

    IB data with Ensign...

i have never used QT or Sierra, but Ensign is great in terms of functionality and flexibility. i am still struggling a bit with the integration of the data feed, but i think i might have found a setup that works. plus, its very cost effective, but i guess it all depends on what type of trader...
