Liquidation on low volume, high beta stocks

Sorry to know your loss. But this spike doesn't look like a price error? It lasted 1+ hour. Curious what happened exactly. This looks like the negative crude future back to March. Something must be wrong.

Any good ETF for cash parking?

The stock market is so high, and I feel it's to pull cash out of it.

    IB TWS layout nightmare

Same issues here. The layout of each page can't be unified. One example. Deleting one column from one page, the result doesn't propagate to other pages. With 20+ watch lists, this is not cool. How can we get help from IB? Does IB watch this forum, or they just sponsor it as an ad?

    IB 52-week Fraction Calculation Incorrect?

How would trader report such issues to IB and get help? It's surprising the data is wrong.

What is the difference b/w HBC and HBCYF?

Thank you so much for the detailed info. Surprised about the number of 313! A follow-up question: Is such info available from Bloomberg free version? Thank you!

What is the difference b/w HBC and HBCYF?

Hi, Elite Traders. Do you know the difference b/w HBC and HBCYF? One is NYSE and one is OTC. But both for HSBC Holdings Plc. Why there is an OTC version

    IB 52-week Fraction Calculation Incorrect?

For example of Lowe's. Current: 158.xx 52-week low: 58 52-week high: 157.xx (lower than prior close of 158.xx, maybe data delay?) And obviously incorrect: 52-week fraction: 42.8%

How does ITB determine the component weight?

It shows LOW 4.44% and HD 4.13%. But HD's MC is almost 3x of LOW. https://www.ishares.com/us/products/239512/ishares-us-home-construction-etf So the weight is not based on MC?

Which data subscriptions are most useful?

Thank you! So CBOE's 4 exchanges' quotes under the basic US Securities Snapshot and Futures Value Bundle are not real-time streaming? Curious what else are not RT streaming in that bundle.

Which data subscriptions are most useful?

Thanks for your answer. I'm mainly interested in US equity, option, and future, including pink sheet market. These subscriptions are hinted by TWS. So I'm unsure if they are sufficient or redundant (with overlapping, for example).

Thank you! Subscribed. Would you mind sharing what this data cover in addition to what I have subscribed? :) Thank you!

Does AAPL split have a record date?

Got this from my broker: Shares of Apple Inc. (AAPL) will split 4 for 1 on Aug. 31 for shareholders of record on Aug. 24. If you own Apple stock, there's nothing you have to do, and there are no fees. If I bought the stock on 8/25, I can still get the split share, right? Then why 8/24 matters...

    ER of MF vs ETF

Had a simple comparison b/w ER of MF vs ETF for some Vanguard funds. It seems most of time ETF has lower ER than MF, except for Russell 2000. Shouldn't ETF take more efforts to maintain? MF ER ETF ER Total VTSAX 0.04 VTI 0.03 SP500 VFIAX 0.04 VOO 0.03 Extended VEXAX 0.06 VXF 0.06 Russell 2000...

How would the executive order affect China stocks?

Quote from yesterday's FT news: The Trump administration has issued its recommendations to ban Chinese companies that do not comply with US accounting standards from listing on American stock exchanges. So what would be the worst case scenario here? A stock may be forced de-listing? If so, what...

SP500 sector ETF: XLP vs XLY

Thanks for the explanation. That's a good one. :) But I also see WMT and COST are in XLP, while AMZN and TGT in XLY. To me they are head-to-head competitors? Curious why we need both XLP and XLY, instead of merging into a single Consumer sector. The market cap of XLP + XLY < XLK. So it's not...

SP500 sector ETF: XLP vs XLY

XLP is for consumer staples sector includes companies that manufacture or sell products that are essential for living. XLY is for companies that manufacture or sell products that aren't essential for living and are dependent on the disposable income of households. But based on this definition...
