I would not say the jump is tough to make but more the culture of the firm to make it. For instance, if you have some turnover or a growing desk then it may happen quicker. If you have a head of trading that rather hire exp people then bring someone up then it may be tough. Often times...

I do not and the numbers being thrown around are not comfirmed. Most of the money in the fund if his own so who knows what the real numbers are.

I dont care to talk about trading but always nice to know people in the industry or looking to join. Just some drinks with like minded people in town. I have a blast with people in the office and various couterparties we trade with but never hurts to know and expand our network.
