    Homepage redesign

The new design is pretty good but I prefer the old design. With the old design I could easily see the most recent posts in all categories. Now I have only the most recent 5 from each category. What is wrong with the new design is that it takes too much time and effort to go through each...

    A Datek's Deception??

Aldrums, You're lucky, they took my $1 I had left in the account. Voodoo, I too can't close my account with them. Seems $15 inactivity fee is a hefty price when they are willing to keep the account open for free if I have nothing in it. I don't get it?

    Life after Proprietary Trading?

Hitman, The money I made in Ibanking covered my college loans. I wish I was so lucky to have any support but when I started to daytrade I had to debt finance the money I trade with. :( Even today, I have a part-time night job to cover the rent. I've only been trading since Jan. I am...

    Life after Proprietary Trading?

IB (investment banking) is not easy. I did it for several years with CSFB as an expat. Yeah, I made a lot of money, they gave me a nice home, a limo and a week in the hospital. They work you to death. I worked from 7am to 11pm everyday including weekends but gave it all up when they had me work...

    uptick rule

"Introducing the proposals soon is important because the SEC must seek public comment for at least 30 days before the commissioners may approve changes. " Does this mean we should write to SEC to show our support for the new proposal?

    Talibanization of Wall Street

He has a little crusade going against short-sellers. Here is his declaration: http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/subject.gsp?subjectid=51782 and he seems to be the only one posting on the thread he created. Also, here is a hilarious parody off of his thread...

    Democrats want to stop Short-selling

Really, this is getting out of control. Not only was I slightly <25k but I was better at shorting. What's next? Isn't there an association of traders, a guild or something that can lobby? Can one be formed? If we treat daytrading as anyother business then why can't we have a voice to educate...

Terrorist Attack on World Trade Center NY

vvv, " an approach not dictated by lower human emotions but rather by wisdom and a strong belief in a better future, and they were fruitful, as in eg germany and japan after the 2nd world war. the extremely wise decision was taken to NOT break those countries and their peoples in spite of the...

New SEC rule has me crying...

Ron, A few ideas on how to get the $10k you need to continue though some will probably wipe you out in the long run if you are not careful: - Sell the car and take the bus or subway if you can. If not, buy a cheaper car. The insurance premiums will be less. - find a cheaper apt - sell all...

    investing capital

First off, I don't think you're looking for investing capital but trading capital. If you plan to trade intraday then that's not investing. You seem interested to raise capital to start trading on your own. Now, I'm assuming you want to go it alone and not a be a propietary trader. If you...

    CPU Usage

mjt, A 4 in. fan is most likely the case fan. Is it on the case or on the chip board? Sometimes on a pc the case fan is temperature controlled and wont turn on unless you PC gets too hot. That's the 'case' with mine; and, I wouldn't get too worried yet if it's not running, particularly if the...

    CPU Usage

Setting Cacheman: You have to set Cacheman according to your OS. Start the program, go into "Presets", choose either "Windows/95, /98 or /ME" and then click "Average User", "Save settings", exit and reboot PC. It's straight forward. Hope it helps. Good luck.

    CPU Usage

zboy2854A, I have to disagree with you. By not having this problem before, and now after running more programs it puts more strain on memory resources. Also, ripping open the PC and messing with BIOS is dangerous for the inexperienced. If there was no problem with the PC before running Hold...

    CPU Usage

Cacheman improves memory allocation and hence CPU usage. It wouldn't hurt to try this 600k program and can easily be deleted without any problems if you don't like it. You want a quick fix, this is it. http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10102-100-5379469.html

    CPU Usage

You could have a memory problem and not a CPU problem. Download Cacheman from CNET. Should help out a lot.
