Mikhail Gorbachev, last Soviet leader, dies at age 91

Have you been there recently, that is recently, prior to Feb. 24? Anyway, when I was last there (left SPb on Feb. 7th), the biggest thing was the QR codes for covid (I didn't have one, obviously, since I'm not a Russian citizen, but I was still able to get into my favorite Irish bar there)...

Can someone please tell the Chinese that the Taiwanese don't want to be "unified"?

Can someone please tell the Chinese that the Taiwanese don't want to be "unified"? It probably won't matter. It never does with authoritarian regimes. But what is the harm in saying it?

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

Law enforcement is preparing for violent protests re: possible Roe overturn. I suspect most of the protests will occur in the blue states (i.e. those that will continue to allow abortions). I guess my point is, that if these states will continue to allow abortions, why the protests?

Does Russia want a nuclear war?

Does Russia want a nuclear war? It sure seems like the Russian government (i.e. Putin) thinks they can win one. This is most unsettling. https://www.the-sun.com/news/5213926/putin-warns-nukes-west/ No one wins a nuclear war. To quote XO Hunter from the movie Crimson Tide (Denzel Washington)...

Russian military’s damaged Black Sea flagship sinks

Either the Ukrainians got really lucky distracting the Russians with their drone, or there was a major design and/or operational failure in the Russian's defense systems. Eitherway, very well played by Ukraine (i.e. don't f**k with these guys)..

China Refuses To Supply Aircraft Parts To Russia

It's a mistake for western companies to exit the Russian market ...

It's a mistake for western companies to exit the Russian market ... imho. If you want the USSR back, this is one way to do it. Complete isolation. Punish the Russian people for something they really had nothing to do with. Create anti-western sentiment. They knew it all along. Hello USSR.

Putin to be removed. Large anti-war protests in Russia.

Even if that were true, to be replaced by whom? The Russian Duma basically voted "go for it", re: Ukraine invasion. Until and unless Russia becomes a real democracy, I don't think you will see much change (politically at least). Really and truly, I wish their leaders would just follow their...

Down 40% on VICR - should i sell or should I Hold?

The question is ambiguous. Should I sell or hold ... yes/no. Anyway, unless you need the money, I would hold.

Omicron Wave Is Coming - Will MAGAtards survive their stupidity?

I normally don't agree with the OP, but in this case, I have to confess that I do. If not Omicron, then there will be some other variant. If not another variant, then a completely new virus. Ladies and gents, we humans are f*ked...

Most of the people say Time Series doesn't work, why?

I agree. Time series are used in all sorts of things. Of course, in trading, when using a time series, you are looking at past events, and past events cannot always reliably predict future events. I wish it were not so :)

Lira collapse leaves Turks bewildered, opposition angry

Last time I was in Turkey (2016?), I think it was something like 3:1.

    CPUs comparison

Personally, I check the PassMark results for any CPU I'm interested in (https://www.cpubenchmark.net/). Note that the benchmark results changed significantly in early 2020 due to new benchmark algorithms (https://www.passmark.com/support/performancetest_faq/v10-results.php)

What can I do with excellent credit score

Having a great credit score allows you to spend, spend, spend!!!! But I think the key is to live below your means. As an example, it's not what you make that's important, it's what you spend.

How likely is an economic meltdown in the US and Europe similar to the one in Afghanistan?

It almost happened on 9/18/2008 after the Lehman collapse. https://seekingalpha.com/article/119619-how-the-world-almost-came-to-an-end-on-september-18-2008
