Don’t read the news. Instead, read the market itself. The key is to have a good sense of the overall market sentiment. Today was a good upbeat market. Tomorrow though could be completely different.

The saying is that the best trades are the hardest trades. Today was a perfect example. If you are afraid of a sudden reversal just put in your stop. Human mind sometimes is indeed very weird, such as the inner deep fear of a sudden reversal in a big trendy day.

Was today’s trading easy? It was an obvious big up day. One could almost enter anytime.

Darn, that happened to me so many times.

I think trading can be really easy when you have an edge and a disciplined process. You’ll still lose but your profit will be much more.

Yesterday was a big down day. Today was expected to be a quiet day for consolidation and for yesterday’s big losers to mend their wounds. Lol Therefore, today was a typical range day. Scalp accordingly buy low sell high.

The market has become much more efficient since Covel’s time. Traditional trend following no longer works. Nowadays it’s more like momentum riding. As long as price doesn’t move randomly forever sometimes it has to be obvious. The key is how to detect and exploit that “obvious”.

I think Fed has to raise the interest rate and try to balance it out. Otherwise, sustained high inflation will destroy the economy by itself.

I used treasurydirect.com before and it was straight forward to transfer money in and out. You can link a bank account to your treasury account for fund transfers.

Unlike most other professions where if you are really good at one thing you can make it, trading on the other hand requires you do everything perfectly. Even one major weakness will ruin you in the end.

If you tried to short today’s market you got a lot to learn about trading.

I think all trading is same in principle but may differ in technicality.

My trading logic is if you can’t assume/feel that you’ll go in big and stay long, then it’s not a trade you should even start.
