If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

My experiences align with what you say. I have a PA system that is objectively quantified and I only trade this price action pattern (appears across many time frames but it changes from day to day, meaning the "good" time frames adjust day to day). So far this has been working for almost 15...

is it a joke that I want to trade full time to make a living with only $30,000?

Sure, give it a shot. But dont go nuts (trade very small size for a couple months), and don't have any daily/monthly profit goals. Have a max drawdown per day and strictly adhere to it so that you can stay in the game and give yourself some time to develop your method.

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Sorry for the terrible spelling below, it should read: "Proper money mgmt is part of any successful overall trading strategy so I don't think you are providing anything groundbreaking here."

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Can you elaborate on "won't always"? For instance, if a strat works for 20 years but then starts to erode does that mean it was a failure?

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Proper money mgmt is part of an success overall trading strategy so I don't think you are providing anything groundbreaking here. But money mgmt alone is NOT the answer.

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Funny, the 2 year mark is when I took off. I've heard them same from others as well.

If you could go back in time to when you were a new trader

Give examples of "trading theory"? Is a trend trading a trading theory? Because I find trends across many time frames and only trade them when they appear. They appear a couple to many times a day, depending on the action. I think you have to be careful about using blanket statements...

    I love this market

Yesterday afternoon and into today have been pretty damn good for my model. Tues and Wednesday were pretty slow for me (especially Wednesday, but not surprising though bc of FED). Monday was above average. Overall, when 2 of the 5 days are slow for me, then I can't say I really love this...

I would give myself my finished rule set and would have started making money 2 years earlier :D

The Andrew Luck RGIII Debate is OVER

Going fwd he needs to get better at reading defenses no doubt. But he really should not have even played the first half of the season. Next year, he should come back healthy and focused and then we'll see if he's improved. Agreed about the running QB thing, he cant take the kind of punishment...

The Andrew Luck RGIII Debate is OVER

RGIII was absolutely a better QB last year. Check all the relevant stats. Not to mention he ran for over 800 yds. 2012: RGIII: 102.4 QB Rating, 4/1 TD to Int ratio, 65.6% completion percentage, 8.14 yds/attempt. 815 yds rushing, 6.8 yds/carry. 3 fumbles... Team made playoffs Andrew...

The Andrew Luck RGIII Debate is OVER

No question Luck is the better QB this year. Last year, it was RGIII. Although Luck may be better overall in the long term, it's still too early to make that call.

Why is it harder to make money in 2013?

Volatility, on average, was much higher in 2010 than 2013, at least in the SPY and ES

Why do you assume she's "hindsight" trading? She's been around here a lot longer than you and, based on her explanations of price action trading over those years, it's quite obvious she's a real trader (and a good one at that).

Absolutely, if you can quantify it (either objectively or by experience) then you have a great foundation to make sense of price action. Glad to hear you are having a nice day!
