Superior intellect - is that enough?

If you were really interested in generating responses to your question why would you call the ET population "jokers." This move alone tells me that though you may be the smartest person in the world in regards to math, english, and academic subjects, you are one of the dumber ones in regards to...

    fading 20-30 cent spikes

Does anyone trade strategies that fade ~20 - ~30 cent spikes on small time frame charts (ex. - 1m) on relatively low volume? I don't take these trades but just from watching price it seems like these trades produce a solid percentage of winners...

    sound signals

Does anyone know if there are platforms that exist where you can input a certain condition and when the condition is met, the program outputs some kind of sound. Example, when price = 1.23, send output to speakers?

    The Opening Orders Thread

hey guys - great journal. When you get into a position at market open do you follow strict rules of where to exit the position or is it more of a discretionary exit based on experience and feel? thanks

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

Thanks for the help apex - just holla at me via PM. I just hope your exits are as smooth as your entries. I'm not just going to average until I'm right. I said I would take one order in the 12's, 11's, and 10's if it got there - thats it. And I'm not sure I agree with the statement that...

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

Is that suppose to be an insult... I'm in averaging mode... I'm just sticking to my plan to try and capitalize on these oversold conditions. My situation won't allow me to watch around the clock for pinpoint entries so I'm making sure I'm in the market and don't miss the move.

    June Gold...

I totally agree with BillRay. This market just seems tired.... Why gold isn't reacting to dollar weakness is beyond me...

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

Whoa! I am continuing with my averaging strategy and will look to add another order somewhere in the 11's. Starting to wonder when a rally will ever occur and what the catalyst will be... but in a few weeks I think I will have profits.

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

agreed - 200 pip may be too much but I said 100-200 which I think is possible. I think we will see around the 18-20 ema touched...This would be the profit taking/get short time. However, profits may be taken earlier. In regards to holding over the weekend. This isn't a daytrade. This is...

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

I'm thinking now might be a good time to start buying and holding for a 100-200 pip profit. If you buy now and then just start averaging every 50 pips I think money will be made...

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

whats up outlaw, I think you got this current situation on lock down. Just to make one point - I don't think the issue you mentioned here: - a housing price implosion is seemingly more and more realistic in the US (i.e. my mother is still hoping for around $1MM for her house which is...

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

where's the rally we all need to add to our short positions... I think this move confirms that we will see much lower lows in the mid-term... hopefully it comes on some type of economic data catalyst that you said

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

the long-term trend is just so heavy down and this last rally from ~1.10 - ~1.18 was just a minor rally in a severe downtrend. Are you bullish on the USD/CAD - and if so you why? see ya q

    Loonie ... the infamous USD/CAD

Get heavy short USD/CAD on any rally. I think we could see it fall below 1.05.

Stop Loss Mechanics / Contract Sizing

I would suggest not starting out with such high leverage. The fx industry wants you to use that leverage because your chances of getting wiped out dramatically increase. Make sure your system is working and you can make money for a little while and grow your account. Leverage can be used but...
