    Is IB that good?

macal425: I had to get up and walk to my window and gather myself after reading your post about the "horse meat stew". It made my day and I could not stop laughing. That was great. Catoosa

    Is IB that good?

qdz2: I have found RealTick to be very reliable for charts and data. I keep RealTick up and running for quotes and information and use IB and other brokers to place orders. If the quotes on IB do not look right, I can look at the RealTink quotes to place the order; But, most of the time the IB...

    matrox g200

Many of the used g200 Quad-4 cards do not include the cables with them. I guess a lot of the computer salvage companies did not think the cables were worth salvaging and threw them out. A used g200 Quad-4 with the two analog cable sets seem to bring about $100 more than the g-200 Quad-4 without...

    Ib Sucks

I have had several of these in past years. Some were winners and some were loosers. I think they averaged approximately net flat. If one such trade is net plus or minus $500, I would not put up a fuss; But, $40,000 on one trade like one trader posted here, now that would get my attention. Catoosa

QQQBALL: We know what that "Pending Cancel" is. Brokers like that do not want knowledgeable traders. Catoosa

QQQBALL: I also had an account with RJT and when I found out RJT was being bought out by TD Waterhouse I closed the account 1/23/02. Things just did not feel right. You have just confirmed all of my suspensions. Catoosa

    Ib Sucks

PuffyGums: CarlErickson's Post at 10:12 PM accurately describes most of the problems I had with IB orders three years ago. Those problems were most often the result of IB's lagging quotes at that time. I would get a phone call from IB up to three days after canceling the order to tell me IB was...

    Ib Sucks

This IB problem has not happened to me in perhaps close to two years. In the early days of IB, I had several unknown trade show up in my account one, two, or three days after after the trade date. These were all orders I had canceled, and IB found out days later that the orders had been filled...

    Cheapest for Big Size

I have had an Ameritrade account for about three years that I opened just to handle the larger trades in cheap stocks. They have a smart order routing system that I think is as fast, as good, and often better than many of the direct access accounts. For the larger orders, Ameritrade's smart...

    Best commissions Realtick platform broker?

Perhaps this would partly explain why RealTick (Townsend) did not want to make arrangements for IB customers to use RealTick through IB. I have been using RealTick for years and was wanting to subscribe and pay for it through IB. Catoosa

    Best commissions Realtick platform broker?

About four years ago, I was setup at 1 cent per share with a broker using RealTick; However, that was not the normal setup for other clients with the broker. I think that is entirely up to the broker to set the fee structure for a client. Exceptions are made. Catoosa

    do you like interactive brokers?

I have checked and found between 1/4 th and 1/2 of my orders are filled via TMBR when I use limit orders on SMART. I think the reason is I hit the bid or offer when I think it is time to get in or out. TMBR fills my order immediately and sometimes at a better price. I am glad to get the...

    do you like interactive brokers?

If the drop in the Dow during this Bear Market equals the fall during the 1973 - 1974 Bear Market, the Dow will bottom at 6456. I think the underling problems in today's markets are worse than what precipitated the 1973 -1974 Bear Market. We have not seen such a bubble in the markets since the...

    Trading Plaforms

BullFighter "Mike", My experience with RealTick and TWS has been just the opposite of what you just described. If I hit a ECN on RealTick, I often get left with part of the order filled when there were other ECNs at the price at the time the order was entered. I have RealTick up and running at...

    Trading Plaforms

I think RealTick has them all beat for everything but the trading platform. For stock trading, if RealTick had a smart order routing system like IB's TWS, RealTick would perhaps be the best for me. But having to try and hit individual ECNs for any size of a fast moving stock on RealTick falls...

    Trading Plaforms

I recommend eating crow and going back to IB. I have been using RealTick's trading platform for several years and it is light years behind IB's TWS. I agree with you about IB's customer service, it is best if do not have any issues and do not need to use it. Catoosa
