AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

Consider trading futures where you can trade other markets not correlated with equities. Oil, Bean, and others had some nice HF/LF and moves thereafter. Something to consider.

    Opening Orders - 2008

Thanks Don. Although I've been trading GS for over a month now using position sizes under 100 shares. I enter using a market order and exit using a limit. Could that be the difference from what you are saying? Does your firm have any safeguards in place to prevent someone from buying over...

    Opening Orders - 2008

Yes, I know I'm not trading like Don and the rest of you. Trying to be innovative I guess. My trading platform is setup to trade a max lot of 1000 shares. This added application for my strategy interfaces with the trading platform, but I guess this application "over-ruled" the platform...

    Opening Orders - 2008

I had every intention of only trading $1500 of GS. Question: If a buy long at market order is sent for a listed stock before 9:30 EST, should that get me the opening print, or should it wait for the opening print then send the order? I specified Market order, not OPG. Also, if my buying...

    Opening Orders - 2008

I started using a new version of the application I'm using. I'm trying tighter stops also. One radio button was in a new place which I thought would be saved in one condition from day to day....I was wrong. I also must have made a wrong input for order quantity, or it just wasn't saved...

was up $109 on 480 shares until the black box got a mind of its own and re-entered a position to give it all back.

Going shopping would have been a lot cheaper than this. 760 shares, -$695 My exit strategy sucks.

Probably a tough comparison, but do you think your fully automated account performs better than the other?

    The Opening Orders Thread

Every day I figure out how much I would have made if I was trading 1000 or 2000 shares per symbol..LOL. I'll be scaling up slowly, but I'm not yet comfortable with my exits. This week i had a few positions go $150-200 against me before it hit my profit target. That's on only $15-20K in...

Oh yeah, but I would see the blue bars at 13:13 coming off a HL (low failure) as a change in trend...depends on how you look at it. Free drawing was the quickest for me. Don't use snagit that much.

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

Attached is a marked up chart of yours to show you the area, I think, of greatest opportunity. Looking at is some more, if you got long after the first bright blue and short after the first bright red bar, you could have made decent profits and kept losses pretty small using the last swing...

AHG - Profitable Strategy for Struggling Traders

Anek, My first glance had me thinking "oh no, not another set of paintbars". But staring at the charts for a little while, my thought is highlighting bars moving down off a LH and up off a HL are most significant since those bars of moving with the trend. Maybe incorporate my HL, LH, etc...
