Dark Pools can they be tracked?

Maybe, but dark pools are not all at the same place. Each broker has its own. And by definition, these orders are not 'exposed' to the public.

Dark Pools can they be tracked?

I agree, but with many trades that are not in half penny are also coming from the dark pool. BTW, I'm not an expert in the stock market (Futures and Options are my thing).

Check out this futures system returns (20% compounded)

What makes you think that a 20% compounded return system is good? A lot of info are missing in your post: - Ratios (sharp, calmar, etc.) - Number of trade/year - Max draw down - Product traded - Commissions and slippage used during your backtest - Type(s) of strategy - Etc. Only a few things...

Dark Pools can they be tracked?

If I understand, you want to see the volume traded that comes from the dark pools. I would say that all volume that is coming from crosses are coming from the dark pools. Not sure if this is identified on data feeds. I'm guessing that your are referring to stocks.

How did you feel with your first +$1000 day in trading profits?

1000$ in one day is nice, but it's not that important. You might win 1000$ one day and lose 5000$ the next one. Your P&L over a year is something more important. Moreover, if for the first time you do 1000$ in a day, you might want to plan for a loss soon. If you do an average of 1000$/day, then...

what do discount brokerage firms think about Robinhood?

It's written black on white that they receive PFOF. They didn't invent anything new. They just want to attract the volume by offering free comm for Public Customer orders. Public Customer order flow is the bread and butter in this industry. That's the real deal! They'll make money as long as...

    Smart Routing Really Smart?

For US options, it's a bit useless since all US option exchanges have to fill at NBBO (for Public Customer orders). Generally speaking, brokers route their orders based on the cost of trading (for them, not for their clients).

    Smart Routing Really Smart?

If you trade SPX, don't they only trade at CBOE??? Making smart routing useless!!

Seeking Advice to Configure Lenovo P-920

You'll be able to fly to the moon with these specs. Dual Xeon, 128GB RAM...give me the money baby!!! If it makes you happy, go for it (with a SSD for sure, PCIE type if possible). But money wise, IMO, it's a waste of money, way overspecs. But it's always fun to have new rig, especially high...

floor trading for yourself vs day trading on computer?

That pic was taken before they opened their trading floor. And their intention was not to launch a 'Pit' as we know it. But to allow certain types of trade that regulator wise, are hard to be done electonically.

    High Risk High Reward Trading

A backtest result that is giving me a 2.5:1 YearlyReturn:MaxDrawdown ratio is a big NO-GO for me. Too risky. I am aiming at a ratio around 10:1 or higher. A 50% drawdown in backtest will probably result in a 75% drawdown in real trading. Who can possibly recover from that type of loss??? I...

Brokerage Firms...ya get what ya pay for

Are you making money with customer service? What's the need to call customer service these days? It's all about making money in this industry. Money talks. Period. If you have to call customer service all the time, you are not in the right place. I don't mean to be rude, but that's the way...

We need big losses from time to time, to rethink the strategy and improve it?

An individual statistic like that without a broader perspective is a bit meaningless IMO. I prefer looking at the Annual Return vs max drawdown ratio. If your max drawdown is 5% and your annual return is 200%, I'd tell you not to worry at all.

Why does SPY hourly show a gap, but not daily on Jan 30, 2018?

These people are good to tell you what happened after the fact. Pretty much useless for making money trading. All medias are full of them. They always have an answer to everything that happened in the past.

This is called the 'Martingale Strategy'. Nothing new here. And that's why casinos have limits on tables. It has a 100% chance of failing. It a well documented strategy.
