    psyche issues

Dude, I'd try to identify some stocks you can trade over and over again. Using screens is like flushing quail...a whole bunch spring up in front of you and you end up filling the sky with birdshot but don't down any birds. Try finding some issues that you can watch and get to know them...

Daily Discipline Reminders - Anyone Care to Share

I play a first person shooter game -- very violent, in the evenings. Because the game rewards me for accuracy I don't waste my ammunition. The game also rewards certain kinds of shots with different weapons. I've modified my entries and exits to reflect these as different styles of trading...

    How fat are you?

Rock Solid, I worked out yesterday: about 35 minutes of aroebics and an hour and a half of circuit training. Three times a week. Four sets of ten. Next week, three sets of fifteen. The week after I add weight and drop back to four of ten. I think this is fairly close to what you were...

    How fat are you?

215, but I'm not big boned. So, it is fat. The weight gain is from steroid use due to a battle with cancer. A nasty side effect of steroids is upper body fat and increased appetite. This has been my only opportunity in life to bulk up and work it into muscle so I'm going for it. Bruce:p

    How old are you?

47 this year. Started selling and investing in mutual funds in '83. Started trading on my own in '88 or '89. In '00 was able to start trading full time and doubled my first big account in five months. Then I traded against the '00 election cycle and almost blew out that account. Since...

    eMesa system

Walter, That is a tough question. I don't know if you are familiar with Steve Woods; he of cumulative float volume fame. He was a high school teacher when he first developed his idea and started trading it. Since then he has gone on to write books and sell the software through Jan Arps...

    eMesa system

Walter, All I know about his personal trading is that he does or did trade. I garnered this from reading his articles in the mid-90's. Sorry, he isn't very explicit about his trading results, but the results of MESA systems are well-documented from testimonials of professional and retail...

    eMesa system

It is fairly clear from the discussion that MESA is an effort to track a market through both trending and non-trending or 'cyclic' behavior. It is safe to say, I believe, if you have traded for any significant number of trades you know what a trend is and what one looks like. Ehlers uses a...

chat room in need of men

Hey man, I read your conversation with LongShot yesterday evening. Just wanted to say thanks for the info re: weight training. Been going to the gym for a little over a month now and trying to lose a bunch of fat. I thought that link on proportions was good, saved that. Anyway, see you...

    Positive Points to Ponder

"A man told me once that he believed just three things; First, it is better to be honest than to lie; Second, it is better to know than to be ignorant; Third, is is better to be free than to be a slave." --Admiral Bill "Bull' Halsey

    Sector % in market indexes?

I don't have a real good answer for you, CHT. At the link I gave you, you will have to explore. For example: http://stockcharts.com/charts/Carpet.html move your mouse over any sector and it will tell you how many stocks are in that sector -- divide that by 500 for S&P weighting hit...

    Sector % in market indexes?

http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/Favorites.CServlet?obj=msummary&cmd=show&disp=SXA BTK & SOX have the major influence on Naz 100. Look at the AMEX SPDRs to get a good idea for the profile of the S&P 500. Bruce

Joey, The serious part of the thread is wwatson's family photos and mail2smitty's signature line. Everything we do as traders is an exercise in self-realization. Bruce
