That is one dangerous strategy. To get filled on 6000+ contracts when all you really want is to do flip 100 contracts. I don't know why some traders feel like they have to manipulate the market in order to make money.

Rearden, in regards to stop loss orders...if you had a stop in place on that infamous day when you lost 2 million in minutes maybe you would've ended the day up one million instead of down one. I agree with the other two points.

Yes and considering that the risk on ER2 is double that of the ES with the same number of contracts, you can save a lot of money on commisions by trading 5 contracts of ER2 instead of 10 contracts of ES for example. As far as why its so jumpy I think its because it has a pretty big ATR of near...

Hedge funds don't get paid any incentive fees unless they hit a new high water mark, so it'll be interesting to see how the long-only funds do in the next few months and/or years if the highs are behind us.
