Did you back test that assumption ?

    Buffett's psychology

Buffett is a genius because of the times he lives in. It just so happens that his ... buy low, hold forever .. just happens to coincide with the fact we've had a bull market without war, etc.

How to trade Forex with margin in IB TWS?

I've never heard a good explanation for why this happened ... I heard vaguely "because regulations" but never anything specific or convincing.

How to overcome the inability to accept small losses when wrong on trades?

Fun. :) I think what ultimately helped me was to turn it into a game that had nothing to do with whether I was making the right decision or not, which is something your ego gets wrapped up in, and simply make it about what I thought the right think to do at the time was, and to force myself to...

    Automation signals

Looking for what you might call automation signals, just very basic quote style data for when specific exchanges were open, when they were closed for holidays, market interruptions, etc. Looking at some forex data it is only bid/ask, and though I can create a binary signal based on that it...

    better executions of late

"The three main U.S. exchange operators had strongly opposed the plan .." (from article) Ya think ? The exchanges aren't satisfied with using their position to give investors a good f^%$ing ... they have to pull out the Kama Sutra for some next level s#^t.

Trading with automation (with IB) - II - spreads

Way. To. Go. :) It's fun seeing people be successful. Trading gets such a bad rap because of 90/90/90, but they forget that smart people DO make money if they dot their I's and cross their T's.

    Natural trader ..

I said I was never a natural trader, and it really goes further than that, I was never interested in trading, the stock market, etc, on any level when I was young. My interest came later. As a programmer I have enjoyed finding solutions to a "problem" (the market) that gives you nearly instant...

    Natural trader ..

Or maybe traders are obsessed with being right, and they change the definition of "being right" to being right about what affects their bottom line instead of being right about each trade ... :finger: ... as a group the good traders seem pretty sure of themselves, even if driven by reality...

    Natural trader ..

I think there was more to it than just business skills. It wasn't just the relationships he could create with people, or being able to pull them into trading with him, etc, which I would consider very entrepreneurial ... but also that he knew his "book" or portfolio, he just had a knack for...

    Safety of Funds

Why did you choose "day" as the frequency, have you investigated what you would trade, how volatile it is, how much potential it has to yield a profit, your chances of being able to trade it to get a profit, etc ? ... or, did you see someone clicking buttons and making intuitive decisions on the...

    Natural trader ..

I'm curious how many people consider themselves sort of born to trading. What I mean by that is that I'm not, for me it is kind of forced, I'm not a natural. But when I was very young I knew a natural trader, and his specialty in the beginning was trading cards i.e. baseball cards, star wars...

    Volatility trading IS directional

For all practical purposes they can go down indefinitely too. I learned this watching precious metals in the 1990's. Something can lose 10%. If you buy then, you can lose 10% more. If someone else buys then, they can lose 10% more. Then the next buyer can lose 10% more. ... and ... pretty...

    Educational trading apps?

Probably depends on what you mean by children too ... by the time kids are about 14, 15, 16, they're probably already programming if they're going to learn it at all.

How to overcome the inability to accept small losses when wrong on trades?

My opinion ... It starts with understanding what wealth is (friends, family, peace of mind, possessions, being out in the sunshine ...) Next taking a position in forex, because every equity, commodity, and bond market is priced in a currency, forex is the ocean upon which everything else...
