Is a weak dollar good for the rich?

And a strong dollar good for the poor? My logic: Since 40% of S&P earnings are overseas, a weaker dollar buoys stocks. Stocks are overwhelmingly owned by the top %. While a strong dollar makes it easier for the poor to get by on low wages, it makes investing for the rich less lucrative. Real...

    Advice on buying some Pistols

Get a CCW. A pistol isn't worth much if it's at home when you need it. All you need is 2 references and a clean record (at-least in PA).

Need a multi year stock screener

Fair enough, but what program would you recommend preforming this screen on? I'm not familiar with such software, only single data-set back-testing software. Thanks for the response. :)

Need a multi year stock screener

One that tabulates the top performing stocks, over the last 1, 2, 3+ years. Most of what I've seen only tabulates YTD stock performance. Anybody know of any good ones? Willing to pay if necessary.

Fed pays continual ransom to HFT computers to not crash the market.

HFT takes advantage of people's poor comprehension of what is going on in very short periods of time to steal.

FACEBOOK IPO M.O.-- screw the employees?

No necessarily a bad idea, but the realtors and top wealth managers around Palo Alto are the ones standing to make out.

This is Why U.S. college educations are worthless.

Nothing wrong with a college education, just have to realize it has limitations. Its easier than ever in modern history to get marginalized in the current workforce, with or without BS. or BA. College is good for making connections, especially a higher level business or liberal arts school. Most...

    Weather derivatives market depth

I am looking for data on weather derivatives liquidity. Anybody trade them on the CME? The spreads seem wide, but there are BIDs and OFFERs. It appears that valuation is very difficult and that is a roadblock preventing widespread adoption. If anybody could post a chart that would be super...

Trade settlement if the euro becomes obsolete as a currency

How will foreign exchange trades be settled? It seems like there is no mechanism for this. There is likely some kind of "force majure" clause in futures contracts, however what about OTC foreign exchange transactions? Is there any precedent for this happening in the foreign exchange markets?

Accredited investors are going to want to see prior business success among your founders. Its hard to get taken seriously...

Your thoughts on multi generational wealth

Well you're right it's looks like a scam. Just linked that video because it discussed family offices I didn't bother to research "HedgeFundGroup". Here's a hedge fund channel which is exceptional and highly unlikely to be a scam: http://www.youtube.com/user/OpalesqueTV

    MF Global Repo-to-Maturity trade dissected

Sounds like a LTCM type bet on bonds. LTCM's bets ended up profitable, but they couldn't manage their exposure with volatility in the marketplace after Russia's default. I think it's ironic that bad bond trades seem to cause more failures of big financial players than anything. Look at Bear...

    MF Global announcement

Sounds like either bankruptcy fraud or the money was never segregated in the first place. When Lehman Bros failed there was clearly alot of fraud, I remember one story where $1Bn in stock held as collateral by LEH on behalf of an institution was permanently unrecoverable.

    We are Wall St.

Un-huh. We all know wall st guys think they are so smart but really what they are doing is shooting fish in a bucket. The people are right to be suspicious of the remunerative and secretive lines of business the financial industry "engineers".
