dollars made = 5 x 13 x 50 margin required = 5 x 5000 you don't use 500/contract day trading margin to make 13 pts, cause the risk (stop) needed for a non-scalp trade would exceed any meaningful ratio for anything less than the overnight min of 5k.

I was on SIM for over a year, however I was also learning how to trade futures at the same time. If you are already a trader and think you have a proven strategy, if you follow your rules and can be net positive for 3 months in a row, why not go live?

With NinjaTrader 7 and Zen fire data, you can get continuous charts for the ES and CL for several months (at least 6).

ES is great, only issue being that you need patience for your targets, especially if you are swinging. For my style, I can't really make it to work scalping. I am also looking at the CL as it seems to give quick movement and may be a good way to augment ES swings with some CL daily trades...

New this site, but my take is that people need to chill in an online forum. Don't take things too personally.
