A Rally in crude might give the index shorts a decent exit- Some of this 8 am buying is probably associated with the recent decline in crude futures. Some covering around 5 pm yesterday on the QM chart(+1.40 in one minute)- not sure what it indicates but I usually keep an eye on it.

How would you gentlemen interpret a drop in crude ? Is it a sign of a further slowing in the economy or is it a positive for the indexes ?:confused:

It might depend on what type of stock that you are holding. Cyclical versus broader based economy stocks. Where are we in the business cycle ? Does the company have earnings ?? Do an overall health check on the company as much as you can dig up. The economy is slowing- what is the reason...

So what could go wrong if you don't have the recommended cpu power ? I use a 2.2 ghz while eSignal recommends a 2.6 ghz- sometimes I run messenger to talk with other traders(sensible ones ) news websites and my brokerage all on three monitors- RAM is 1GB..so far my orders fill at market...

I agree that the dailies imply some sort of stalling and temporary fall backward, but on a more positive note the Commercials had a shift to the long side (but are mostly still short on a percentage basis). Previously whenever the the headlines spoke of rate pauses the market rallied wildly...
