Where did the "90% are losers myth come from?

I think it is somewhat similar with stock and futures brokers. Whether it is 90 or 95%, one should not get discouraged. This is one of the easiest businesses to enter. I think if one were to include only those who properly devoted their brain, skills, money and utilized proper discipline and...

    When to call it quits

When it comes to big decisions I prefer to utilize chess player way of making moves. Think it over 100 times and then proceed.

    Cuba

I spent 2 weeks in Cuba (mainly in Havana ) in 1991 and it was original and refreshing. I like Cubans their music, women, rum and smokes. Good old times! So close to the US and yet so different.

    When to call it quits

Letting go of a steady semi well paying job (for NYC that is) with a pension is not easy especially for somebody who is over 40. I am vested,I will still have health insurance through my wife and the bills could be covered with her salary alone (and income from my other ventures). The capital...

Taking 320K to 3.5million by Year End 2009

Like those who wrote before. Taking 300 to 3000 is a totally different ball game. The more money is at stake the more one loses his ability to think straight. The emotional dynamics are skewed against you when big numbers come to play. Re think, re focus and after careful analysis, re load...

    When to call it quits

That pension comes with one string attached - another 20 years of work, stress, and being surrounded by morons. Is it worth it? Not to me. :D

    When to call it quits

Well, I only trade when I am off from work and can be in front or around my PC for the whole day. The difference is I cannot do it 5 days a week, week after week. So it could be argued that I have done it full time.

    When to call it quits

I do not have them often either, and it is a bumpy road as opposed to working for uncle sam where chances of getting let go are slim and the salary one draws is decent (not to mention retirement). However, having said that, I do get frustrated when I see the market going my way and I cannot...

    When to call it quits

That would put me on a front cover of NYP and arrest would probably be in the books as well. However, you are right, there would only be one path to consider. :D

    When to call it quits

I hear you but when you get 15K days, the desire to go to work is just .... not there. Doing it part time is fine but I feel like I am trying to be smart Alec and in the end I will lose plenty of $$$ and get fired at the same time. BTW once you get fired from a gov. job, you are pretty much...

    When to call it quits

The confidence is there (and so are the results) but so is paranoia. I am a very cautious person by nature and before I make a major step I need to evaluate all the angles. Being a chess player does not help either (unless it is speed chess but since I am not a scalper ....).

    When to call it quits

    1. Paying myself is not an issue, I got enough capital to be able to take a withdrawal every month which would be substantially more than my salary. 2. it does not, but my professional commitments do get in a way. As for emotions, I have been stuck in neutral for a while (job wise that...

    When to call it quits

See this is where the paradox kicks in. I cannot pay all my debts (which is only mortgage) because I cannot spread my wings day trading. And I cannot do it every day because of professional commitments.

    When to call it quits

well, not to expose my financial health too much, thanks to my wife all my bills get paid. She works for uncle sam so health care is taken care of as is old age with retirement package which is one of the best out there. I am not worried about being on the streets.I am worried that I am just...

    When to call it quits

For those of you who have been consistent at trading, how long did it take you to say "adios" to your then current job and proceeded to roll over and became full time trader?
