YM broke out of 13494 long for 10 (and more, but I'm only counting the target) points right after 5:45. 1 win for +10 yesterday 1 loss for -7 I guess I should keep a running total...

why not wait until it tests the 175 area and fails? does your trading style allow you to jump on in the middle of a wave? how did it do in earnings this quarter? does your trading style allow you to short after white printed candles like that with no signs this wave is over?

Finally home, stopped out on the YM trade (1 minute time stop) for -7 points at 8:57. We'll see how we do tomorrow.

I don't have much experience with the ER2, but I'll start looking at it's price action see what I can do about whipping up something for ensign and bracket trader... maybe it's time to switch...

I'd imagine due to the wide swings of the ER2. Prolly the YM falls somewhere in between. I'll check it out when I get home, and leave a post about whether it checks out or not.

Pivot point for YM is 13384, near the target. The next highest resistance is somewhere pretty high, due to the volatility on Friday. Currently, still within the opening range, 13346.

opening range on the YM today is 13275 on the short, and 13375 on the long side. According to the rules, we'll wait for it to hit either. 10 point stop, 10 point target, 1 minute time stop, after we get to 4 points positive, we'll move the stop to breakeven +1.

Another that is some marketecture on how to build an opening range breakout system (although I think it's suspect since it uses cutting out a day of the week in order to get a better return - that's fitting the results to the data if ever I've seen it) EDIT: Here's dbphoenix's threads that...

There are tons of Opening Range strategies out there...here's a couple pdfs - one that is exactly a 15 minute opening range scalp (along with some other setups, including a 3pm reversal). I hope this ruleset does well. Good luck. I'll follow this thread with interest.

DHS, are you pretty firm on the whole 1 minute time stop? Thanks for bringing this method up in a new thread. I like it, and had pretty much forgotten about it until you brought it up.
