the prop shops were for the late 90es and early 2000es...there done now,running a prop shop is basically a small time bis ...rates too low ...margins too low...legal bills too high etcetcetc bieng a branch of a prop shop is the way to go...just compare them well against eachother ....test...

the only way to run your own firm is to do ...actually do all the things don said ... and then grow the firm to a huge size so you can benefit from its scale just remember it can take 5 or 10 years to build a firm and only 15 minutes to destroy one..

compensation just like any other hedge fund, ie sac capital its all one account .....with direct investments by its top traders on witch they recieve 100 percent of the profits on their own money they have invested in the fund minus the management fee of 2 percent and minus comissions...

it seems to me that all the really good or great true prop traders are starting to band together to start a real hedge fund. 6 or 7 guys trading 1 account....in a real partnership ,with a real track record..raising and running real money the market for these alternative investments also...

it seems to me after reading all this that WORLDCO was the finest of all the firms,it was a real prop firm with awsome capital allocations,and that most of the other newer firms today are bieng truly run by worldco people the genius was walter scott bruan,wall streets rembrant
