success in stocks = success in options?

i would say long call give yourself minimum 3 months to be right, sell 1 month left no matter where the underlying is. if you're buying OTM, it has to really move for you to make money... the more time passes, the higher your break-even price is... Other bullish strategies include ITM...

thanks for looking into this, truly appreciate it. I'm using TD Waterhouse Canada for my data. TD Ameritrade purchased thinkorswim, so we should have those tools within the next year I imagine for canadian stock options. too bad there's a price tag attached to it, but why would they make...

Hey, thanks for the help! i tried it and it takes the symbol now. SC.TO for some reason though, the numbers are still not showing up for me. edit: you may need more capacity for the symbol field, I tried COS.UN.TO (Canadian Oil sands trust) and that is just 1 character shy...

Anybody trades options without any greek letter?

I don't think he was serious.... i think he was providing just as useful a reply as another member here... unless you're joking too, in which case that would make me a dolt. edit: while i'm at it... wrt to the original question... I just don't see how you could, w/out a graphical view...

Selling covered calls - Margin required for no reason

i think i posted this earlier, but TOS [thinkorswim] will help you out. Easy to open an account, you don't have to fund with an insane amount and the customer support is great. you guys have it better in the US though, we don't have much choice, so this is gold.

    Expiration Week Only-EXTREME Options Trading

haha ^ priceless trading wisdom? if it'll help me deal with high gammas.... ^ totally not for me... I'll be "wrong" the first 3 weeks, then "right" the next 2 weeks after that.

Looking for a good mentor for option trading...

The only advice I can offer when you're long is to be extremely rational and business-like in your entry and exit points. You'll never know if it'll go higher, and if it does, before your long position expires. Define what return you want, once it reaches your target, get out. Greed...

Selling covered calls - Margin required for no reason

Lol, I'm not disagreeing with you, that's weird though. Never thought about the margin requirement. There appears to be a disconnect here. But I agree that the RRSP and TFSA's allow long calls/puts and covered calls, no spreads (AFAIK) though...
