Trading Recipes vs Wealth-Lab vs Amibroker

WL is the most user friendly software and allows one to write the backtesting code relatively easily. AB is faster for backtesting though, but being pretty cryptic, is not as user friendly as WL. Still is much cheaper than WL.

Too early is not good either. In fact, it's good to enter when the market starts heading in a new direction and that sometimes takes time. Reversals do not occur immediately, they take some time to form.

    Trading "Rules"

And that is, of course, in no way related to the problems of some GG... if only he could get it...

    The Stochastic Indicator

And that's because only that much can be grasped at all. So you understand everything except perhaps the fact that there is very little to understand here. And you are confusing information with the lack of it, otherwise called the noise.

    IB quote speed issues...today especially

Time to move somewhere else, I guess. They do not even acknowledge receiving email questions anymore, not to mention that you obviously get no response from their customer service regarding said questions. This happened to me twice the last two times I tried. I have never called them, only...

I thought you were trading divergences. At 984.5 I could not spot any stochastics divergence on my charts. Could you post your charts or elaborate on your rationale behind this trade? Thanks, Wally

Some ideas about automated trading solutions

Thanks Eddy, MyTrack is more likely in the $40 territory (for SierraChart and Amibroker for sure) at least when paid monthly and if they have no annual discount you end up paying for IRT with data feeds basically as much as you would pay for using TS 7 which is $99 a month (plus CME data fees...

Some ideas about automated trading solutions

Now, how much do you pay for IRT (I mean all the fees you need to pay to trade Eminis). I am asking this because I am considering TS to trade my systems, but perhaps IRT would be less expensive. At least, it would not hurt to know alternatives. BTW, the trades are executed by IB, right...

    Do you really need indicators?

trade successfully using indicators, some people can trade successfully using the price action only, most cannot trade successfully at all... It does not matter what you use, but how.

how large are your trading accounts?

I will not disclose the units though...

    Tradestation ES data

So, can it be used for an automated trading of a portfolio of systems? I have designed a few over the last several months and would like to go live trading them automatically. Can TS be trusted? I mean the systems for ES trading.

    Chronicles of an Idiot

Well, well, well. So who is right? Quick ins and outs with a 7-1 reward to risk ratio? I doubt this is realistic. I did notice that he mentioned 250-350 point profit objectives, but how often can you get it with a 50 pt stop loss particularly when you trade 60-80 times a day. Most of his trades...

Secondary Income or other sources of income

Have you tried begging? I think that would be a good ego adjuster too, just don't know if it's worth the time...:D

    Chronicles of an Idiot

There is another thread on ET right now that talks more about these. It's related to the market noise and the stops and has these names in its title.

    Chronicles of an Idiot

Actually, I am not sure about the tick size in the big SP. Is 1 tick 0.10 pt or 0.20 pt? I thought it was 0.20, but since I have never traded the big contract, I could be wrong.

Good point, 60-80 a day, so no wonder that he has to keep his stops that tight because his targets are also small, probably of the same size as his stops.

    Chronicles of an Idiot

5 ticks in the big SP contract is 1 pt and 1 pt is $250 which corresponds to the risk of 5 pts in the SP e-mini. Also, I guess, these are historic observations from the times when the ATR of SP was smaller. Sperandeo was a successful trader in 80-ies, early 90-ies. Times change, it's important...

    Chronicles of an Idiot

So you paid $3,000 for the TIMES method? Gee, I have a better one and I have even not started using it yet.

    Chronicles of an Idiot

This may or may not work out. You need to know what MFE and MAE your method has and optimize both stops and targets knowing these parameters. Tightening the stops is not always a good idea. In fact, with a 6 pt stop loss you are more likely to get 2 pts than with a 2 pt stop loss. Breakout's...

    Chronicles of an Idiot

Showing the difference by some pictorial example would probably be helpful. There are many stochstics out there. For instance SierraChart gives you the preferred, fast, and slow stochastics. I prefer the preferred and slow ones. Thanks, Wally P.S. The thread is really very good. Congrats...
