    Question From A Loser

RAH2153, Here's some info for you. http://www.fairmark.com/capgain/wstrader.htm Once you make the Mark to Market election you cannot go back unless you get consent from the IRS. Note: I never tried it so below is as much a question as a statement. Not sure if I'm correct here...

Thanks, I've referred to them as R1.5 R2.5 and so on. I don't think anyone really ever needs anything beyond R3 or S3 but I am curious to the formula for R4 S4 and beyond if anyone cares to show it or PM me. TIA:)

    how many schedule D's ???

Cool, good to know summarizing passes. I guess if everybody does it this way they can't audit everyone. I've heard stories of people getting conflicting info from the IRS so this doesn't surprise me. Summarizing sure does make expensive offers like Gainskeeper look obsolete. LOL I never...

    how many schedule D's ???

Janko, Hate to spoil your day but I personally contacted the IRS on this subject and they said you cannot do that. You need to show each individual trade specifically. But they said it's ok to print them using a capital gains report or any other method of listing them. Just call...

How much do you REALLY make trading?

Marc, No need to get defensive about it. LOL I'm currently using a 100 to 200% unsubjective strategy for safety. But I have a 10,000% strategy up my sleeve I'm not ready to use yet, so your measly 600% strategy wouldn't phase me. LOL But I do see where you're coming from, no need to expose...

First-year, newbie casual trader tax question

Toad, I recommend getting Quicken and keeping track of your trades in Quicken as they happen. Then at the end of the year you can make a Capital Gains Report in Quicken. Call it Schedule D-1 Continuation Sheet. In minutes you'll have the biggest part of your taxes complete. I've heard of...
