Ha I thought you'd get a kick out of that :) Well, we're not even down 20% yet so there's that. Plus, there's a host of economic indicators that are still showing strength - slowing, but still strong. A correction is just that - a reversion to more realistic valuations. I think you'd agree...

    Dark Pools

No. That would defeat the point. The entire purpose of a dark pool is to hide size and price. An order can get traded-through in the dark if no one routes to the exchange whereas that is not possible on a lit exchange. What are you up to?

    Dark Pools

Any exchange that is not 'lit' (ie. openly advertises liquidity) would by definition, be dark. Time and sales reporting guidelines are the same for all exchanges, with few exceptions. All trades executed in the dark are reported, most can be seen as 'nde' on the tape, or some other designation...

2438 would be a good place to get into a long, not out of one.

Still holding 2500, market is starting to look toppy.

There's a big pocket of air between 2440-2500 right now. First liquidity is under 2440. If you're right and btd is back in vogue, I'm in. I'll be watching closely the next few trading days.

I see a seller on the tape at the top of the hill here just over 2500. We'll see what he's up to.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a dip down to 2430 today.

Relocating to a new country to trade. Where do I go?

When you've blown out your account a few times, hopefully your friends and girlfriend will still be there. Get your priorities straight.

    A thought on marijuana...

The problem is that California is confined to shipping cannabis between its own borders. Were the Federal government to legalize, the supply glut would disappear and the country would have the opposite problem.

I would expect more consolidation or better yet, another drop down before another leg up. This market is not stable. I wish I could see a tape so I could get a feel for what's happening.

Man you guys are hardcore, no Christmas break? I step away for a few days and there's 33 pages added on the thread lol. Hope everyone's been killing it. I won't even consider a buy until we're over 2500 and holding.

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

I was around in 08. If I'm not mistaken, some data would indicate that retail did a massive retreat from the market in Jan-Feb of 2018 and then again in August-Sept which has been earmarked as the reason for the big drop earlier this year and again later so on that topic, we are on opposite...

I could effectively argue the other side of everything you've said to demonstrate how none of those things are as meaningful as you are prone to believe, but I'd bet it wouldn't change your opinion. For what it's worth, I AGREE with you - yes rates are higher, the Feds liquidity is being...

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

I agree with you, especially with respect to the fact that the market is going DOWN irrespective of my view which is why, although I have reason to be bullish, I'm staying out until I see the market substantiating my thoughts. I regret not shorting but at this point I'm ambivalent about jumping...

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

Super glad that I did. Hard to argue with facts, now. We are down nearly 20%. Over 300 of the s&p stocks are down greater than 20%, some near 40%. This is a major correction. Only time will tell if it turns into a sustained bear market, personally, I still don't see it. Whether or not you...

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

For all of my bullishness, even I am not foolish enough to think that a rally will change the landscape here. This is a depressed market. If we get up over 2700, okay, bulls have a chance at redemption. But for the near future, "bullish" is a misnomer. I regret that I didn't short. Still out for...

The Fed is set to raise rates so long as there is no economic disaster sighted on the horizon. A pullback in the housing market or stocks or whatever is not considered disastrous... the Fed have been talking up 'overvalued asset prices' for over a year now and has made it a literal part of...
