    ES first 30 mins

Wow. It amazes me how people get blasted on forums. I guarantee you wouldn't talk that way to my face. Maybe I want more than what I'm making. Maybe I want to improve.

    ES first 30 mins

I'm looking for opinions on the following. I recently decided to do no trading the first 30 minutes of the regular session. From 8:30 AM to 9 AM Chicago time. I am now rethinking that. It seems like some of the time I'm better off waiting and some the time I would hot my first winner of...

    The S&P 500 has topped at 2430 on 6/1/17

Precisely !!! who cares when it tops out,,,, well i guess if you are a swing trader who holds for days/weeks/months.. then you really care. For an Intraday trader it does not matter. Like Mtrader is saying, we just need to be on the right side for that time period.

"How I Afford to Travel the World"

I think all of this confirms why some traders like myself do not hold over-night. I need to be able to go long or short depending on what's going on. I do believe a large correction will transpire, I have no idea when and it doesn't matter. I will surely be going short when that occurs. What...

    Basic ES question

for what it is worth.... on ES I used to run big wide stops like 5-7 points or more... and was always looking for profit targets that were not realistic. Of course, I blew up my account... 7 points is $350, I trade $3000 per contract so that is just too much. Now I run a tight stop at 2...

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

wow,,, now that is a terrific boy isn't that the million dollar question. HMMM, there could be so many reasons. I put up a link that explained that volume of common stock trades was down, but volume on options was way way up. But I do not think that is it, not that many people buy...

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

my method was tweaked and perfected in this low volume/low volatility time frame. It works, but I do recognize that some trades just don't have the volume to give me the follow thru up/down from entry point. I use a volume criteria for entry, but it is relative volume, not absolute on the ES.

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

interesting article.... common share volume down,,,while options volume went up big time...article is from 2013, but probably still accurate for 2017 http://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-where-the-sp-500-trading-volume-went-2013-2

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

well, I like to think this way... if you can make money in this stock market, with low volume, low daily range, and low volatility... then you can sure make money when things (if things) get back to normal

    snore..ZZZZZZ.... another sleeper for S&P

I don't think this is just summer.... I will search for some better data... but look at this by the decade.... we are at a volume level per day we have not seen since 1990's

Market loss is 3x faster than market gain

That is not what my post says. What the process is that equity market, the Standard & Poor's 500. What the process is that equity market, the Standard & Poor's 500, Goes down three times faster then it goes on. I'll be asleep and we want to be on the short side when things are going down...

Market loss is 3x faster than market gain

Wow we seem to have gotten way off topic from where I started this thread. But I guess I'll chime in anyway. I would never ever trade without stops. I was foolish enough to do this when I first started. I had "mental" stops. You know what happened. The asset would hit my mental stop and I...

    Dream Big !

Wow. So much negativity. This was supposed to be an inspirational post I put up. I would venture you say the trading is like any other high-performance activity. Like the surgeon or a pro athlete. I would say positive mental attitude is absolutely needed.

Actual trader from Finland real prop! or pretend prop

I came across a company a few months back it was charging something like 4000 or $5000 to be trained. They were advertising as a job for a trader. I believe on CareerBuilder. I researched them on the Internet and found out that they rarely funded anyone after this training was completed...
