April 3, 3:15PM, Will we have a selloff before the close?

I do tend to agree with you on probability of large move tomorrow being higher than normal. If you are looking for me to hazard a guess, I would suggest the first move is up large judging simply by the inability to retrace any significant portion of the Tuesday short squeeze. I do think...

April 3, 3:15PM, Will we have a selloff before the close?

There are still a few threads out there which you haven't spammed your view on a large move looming tomorrow. Get on it

April 3, 3:15PM, Will we have a selloff before the close?

Guys like you who try to pick tops but know that this market is acting short so there is always a bid directly under the market. We are in the process of unwinding 5 months of bearish sentiment.

Woo hoo, 30c selloff, you take the dimes and run?

    Bottom was 17th march

Markets bottom on bad news. Bears were given a sharp stick in the eye both last Monday and this Tuesday. How have they responded? By sticking their tail between their legs and watching the gains hold while they drone on about how fundamentally bad things are out there.

More bad news for the shorts to buy . . .

    400k jobless claims

Better question is what can the bears do with bearish data. Lately the market has been rising on bad news and good. Bears have clearly lost traction since the BSC panic low.

    The Grand Delusion Rally

I think the delusional ones are the bears who stubbornly think they will get another bite at short covering against the recent lows.

I didn't take the MTM election last year

You are entitled to write off the balance of your 2007 capital losses against any future capital gains. For example, say last year you lost 25k trading, you write off 3k on your 2007 return. Say in 2008 you make 50k trading, you are then entitled to write off the remaining 22k of your 2007...

    bears rule in this market

Let's see, neither QQQQ, SPY, or IWM has printed < unch vs last Friday. So far this week I am quite unimpressed with the bears, especially with the complete lack of selling after yesterday somewhat poor close.

Feels Like one of those days

Funny but true, know the bears are in trouble when the market keeps going up on bad news. Built a nice wall of worry last few months.

Don't Get Shaken Out - Short the Market!!

No kidding. Russell 2k moved 10% up from last week's low and now is down a whopping .5% today. Those bears really showed me who's in charge. I am still hoping for a decent dip to buy.

    GET THE HELL OUT

What, you want yet another test of the Jan lows? Doubt the market will accommodate the bears anywhere near that extent simply because there are so many of them. I plan on adding more longer-term exposure on the next selloff but I fully expect it to bottom well north of last week's lows.

    Where's the volume longs??

Very normal for a market to rally on weaker volume than seen during selloffs. Don't fall in love with notion that weak volume means rally will fail. Could rally for days or weeks on weak volume, and given the huge bearish sentiment backdrop it might.

Don't Get Shaken Out - Short the Market!!

I don't doubt we back off some next couple days, but to get -2% today you will need the perpetual bid in the high betas to soften up. IWM,XLF, and QQQQ have been heavily shorted. Of the 3, only XLF has shown any sustained weakness today.
