I don't understand renting when you can afford mortgage. If your rent is equal to your mortgage payment, why the hell would you rent? If you decide that's not for you for whatever reason, dropping the mortgage and losing the house is the same as dropping the rent and losing the rented house...

Because stock trading is not accessible to everyone like fx spot. To trade stocks you need to have money (no leverage) and be serious about it if you don't want to lose all your money right away while with fx spot every kid on the block with literally 5$ in his pocket can trade currencies...
