Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Crap, now I gotta another thread to dissect.... ;) I kid, I kid.. I actually just reviewed 47 pages of it, and saw that Bubba (Jack) instituted the $50 limit, but I didnt see an explanation. I am not trying to beat a dead horse here, I was just curious the logic behind it. I will...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Hello all, I just wanted to say I have been reviewing and taking notes (as per Spyders recomendation) for 2 months now and am currently 1/2 way through journal II.. Most of my questions have been answered as I continue on, but one I havent seen addressed yet is a simple one regarding the...

Boston Prop - Chimera v. Bright

I was under the impression all similar firms require a series 7 (echotrade, assent, etc.)

Don, Where is your office located in Boston? Just curious.

What is the down side of having Series 7 license?

Which makes absolutely no sense.. Besides being an obvious rip off scam, how can that be justified? I would like to know the logic behind the rule.

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

It has nothing to do with "shortcuts," laziness, or getting instant gratification. I just didnt know if certain info was outdated, and not worth focusing on since it seemed the method evolved. Efficient learning isnt wanting to be spoonfed, and who said I didnt have the time to study the...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Trading Journal III

Can this be elaborated on? I am still in the process of wading thourgh the various journals, and although I have no problem breaking down the 3 lists of 10, from the inital universe, etc, if a newer/more efficient/easier way to do so has been developed, can it be elaborated on? For...

Market Profile/Delta.. Why used only for futures?

Very good point. I meant to bring that up, b/c it would seem like you could filter out opening order prints, and excessively large (relative to that individual stocsk behavior) prints.

Market Profile/Delta.. Why used only for futures?

I have been studying and reading different uses/interpretations of market profile and the usual uses Point-of-control (POC) and HLA and LVA readings in order to see where crucial areas of indices traded the prveious day. I started looking at this when reading Bolters old journal about a year...

    Wall Street Layoffs

Hasnt equity been getting decimated for a few years now? Nasdaq Market making= gone. Salestrading =`being replaced by algorithmic trading, and those who manage to hold onto ol customers attempt to make a .01 or 2 per share... (in other words dying a slow death) even the NYSE is becoming...

1st Job - Financial Services Representative - NEED YOUR OPINIONS

Yes they are. They are tough to get, unless you are a really hot woman, or have good connections. And the "top" firms, only like to hire "top" school (usually MBA's) for thier programs. Especially these days, with more customers using ECN's, less sales positions exist. Arent bonds also...

Career in Trading - New York City

Is trying to get hired as a clerk even a realistic goal? It seems with automated trading/computerization, it wouldnt be worth the trouble to try. The jobs simply continue to slowly disappear. If nothing else, its a soon to be dead end extinct career. To me, it seems like the only future...

Career in Trading - New York City

Even when the jobs existed, they were hard to get without a top degree or very good connections. Now, since the jobs basically dont exist anymore , its next to impossible. Trading jobs, for all intents and purposes have been computerized, and will continue to be. I suggest you look at a...

    In-depth realtime volume indicators/alerts/scanning

I understand that, but to me that doesnt do much more than indicate a stock is behaving more so than it did the last x days ago. In other words if a stock runs up on high volume, I would like to analyze the volume and price action in reaction to that move.

    In-depth realtime volume indicators/alerts/scanning

I have tried this and used it, but it is glitchy (my esignal data feed loses connection with it) and they cant seem to fix it. They do offer buy/sell pressure, but they offer it as a volume indicator to apply to a chart. I want to use it as a filter to alert me to stocks I have selected...

    In-depth realtime volume indicators/alerts/scanning

I currently am experimenting with TI, but I didnt see them address my volume concerns. All of their filters seem for based on the daily activity vs historical rather than the indepth analysis I am looking for. Perhaps I am missing something in your link, but it seems like it is what I have...

    In-depth realtime volume indicators/alerts/scanning

yeah. I figured TS/RS are probably the best, but you basically need to be a programmer to learn "easy language," as it is nothing close to easy I have been told. I am dabbling with the idea of seriously learning it. The online books are awful and incomplete, but I might look into their classes.
